“An unexpected gem”

Had no idea that this gallery was there and made a trip when the weather forced us indoors. A very good gallery with a fine collection in an excellent setting.

The blend of the original Pallant House building and the newer extension provide a comprehensive show of the best of the art of the last centuries and of today. The programme of changing exhibitions draws you back time and again. Smart restaurant and all in beautiful Chichester - so worth a visit.

“Add a little culture...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2013

Many people, like myself, visit Chichester for the Theatre, others for the nearby attractions of the Racecourse or the Motor Circuit, and dont forget he sheer charm of the place and the shopping...but she who must be obeyed said "You need a little Culture", and she was right.
Pallant House is an absolute gem, and no aggrevation about parking because it is bang in the centre near all the shops and restaurants.
It is easy to find, and when we walked in to be met by the welcoming receptionist I asked "What is that beautiful Queen Anne House next door ? " she smiled and explained "That is where you are going !"

A fascinatingh collection of furniture, furnishings, pictures and in particular an intreguing exhibition "The Operation Drawings" by Barbara Hepworth.
There are pictures, modern and old, and although the establishment can be comfortably covered in just over an hour, it is an hour very well spent.
They have a "Field and Fork" Restaurant, the same firm who look after the Minerva Theatre, and really good it is too. There is a very comprehensive Book and gift shop, and if you go to Chichester without visiting Pallant House you havent been to Chichester !

“Very enjoyable morning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2013

Just spent a few hours and the gallery and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were so many pieces of art that struck a chord and the setting for them was glorious. (The house itself is worth a visit). By happy chance I went on Tuesday when the ticket price is reduced.

As a casual visitor to Chichester last year, I missed out on visiting the gallery, Trip Advisor has it categorised as shopping and not in the attractions section which is a shame.

“Interestingly curated exhibitions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2013

I enjoy the diverse range of exhibitions that Pallant Gallery put on, always thoughtfully and interestingly curated. The old Pallant House is also an attraction in it's own right. I've also always found the staff to be friendly and genuinely helpful.
