I always take new visitors to Chichester around these gardens before heading to the cathedral. The gardens are quite large and well laid out with plenty of space to sit and relax or provide a pleasant stroll.

Beautiful garden, great place to sit down and relax, bring a cup of coffee/tea and enjoy peace and quiet and the flowers

I used to spend an awful lot of time inside these gardens, they felt more homely before the refurbishment to me but look far more attractive since. I go there to relax and unwind sometimes and t's a great place to sit alone and read or watch the world go by.

These gardens are a perfect haven in the middle of the city, filled with colourful flowers and buzzing bees, with glimpses of the cathedral and other handsome old buildings between the trees. It's always beautifully peaceful, as the old Roman walls which surround the gardens cut out the noise of the busy ring road directly outside.

The plants are always well-maintained, with an ever-changing range of colours and shapes. The only (very minor) disappointment on my most recent visit was that the fountain in the middle of the gardens wasn't running and was just a dry bowl, but I'm sure they'll get it fixed and running again soon.
