Stopped by with the kids for a quick snack at lunchtime. Great staff, buzzy atmosphere. Had toasties, homemade lemonade and their daily salad. Good value.

Went in for a light lunch on a Sunday; place was very noisy with lots of machinery going so we had to shout our order to the rather miserable girl behind the counter. Noticed that most cakes, pastries and cooked items were not covered so presumably the local flies do well! We both ordered tea and the spinach quiche thing ( so forgettable I can't remember it's real name!). The tea came in a metal tea pot. Uuurrgh. The food came on its own on a plate, no garnish or any attempt to dress the plate and not good value either. I can see why other cafés we found afterwards were so much busier! Won't bother again.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your recent experience with us. Noise levels can get high when we are busy and the coffee machine and grinder are in constant use. Some of our food is uncovered. We do carry our regular audits on this with our customers - the majority (72%) prefer the counter food to be uncovered. They feel they can see the food better and it is more authentic. However, we will take your views on board when we next review. It is disappointing that we can't please every customer on this. Regarding value for money, we work hard to provide this - we benchmark ourselves regularly against our competition, both local businesses and national chains, for the experience we offer. We are an independent business and cannot afford to be complacent. We do offer several different salads with our homemade vegetable frittata - I am sorry that you felt unable to pay for one of them, they are delicious!

Visiting friends in Chichester for Goodwood. We were in town, desperate for a good coffee. My friend recommended this outpost ( they have one in Lewes too). Top rate coffee ( I profess to be a coffee snob). Their flat white was perfect - strong, creamy, delicious. We had a slice of homemade blueberry and lavender cake to go with it, also good.

I've visited this place in the past and found it very nice but not this time. Although the restaurant is quite nice and airy, the staff were so miserable. We ordered 3 coffee frappe things that tasted so bitter you couldn't drink them even with sugar. We returned them and explained and ordered 2 ordinary coffees and a tea. Nobody apologised or sympathised or offered us the difference. Everything took an age to be brought to our table.
The toasted sandwich was also burnt without any apology.
Prices aren't cheap either but not worth it.
Won't be visiting again - looks like we weren't the only ones either - very quiet for 1 o'clock lunch time when most places are busy in Chi.
