The staff made this place, all very enthusiastic, knowledgable about the area when I asked for directions, capable, very helpful and friendly and together with the hotel facilities and price made for an exceptional stay in what I thought would be a very ordinary cheap hotel.
But this stay has made me change my preconceptions about Premier Inns and would definitely look at them elsewhere (unfortunately unlikely to be back here again, this was a one off trip to this part of the UK)
The other reviews here mention all the other good points about the placement of the hotel so I won't repeat those, but just to mention that we actually had a room facing the main road but with the triple glazing closed, couldn't hear any road noise at all.
Also liked the requirement to use a key card to get into the hotel past reception and on each floor, adding to security.
In all, very good hotel at a good price, the breakfast was reasonably priced especially for a hotel, and that's what we used, but if you felt like a stroll, it's probably only 15 minutes to the town centre and a variety of interesting looking cafes as well.More
