“Everything we needed from an overnight stay”
Reviewed 6 April 2013

Booked to stay here for an evening whilst we were in the area for a friends wedding. We stayed in one of the rooms at the back and found it to be spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent, helping us to our room upon arrival and even booking a taxi for us in the morning. Breakfast was also really good and freshly cooked too which was a definite plus.
Although we didn't really go out around the town on this particular trip, the pub was right in the centre of town so I wouldn't hesitate to use this place again should we wish to visit Chichester in the future.

Have been here for a meal before and the service was great - visited again, couldn't find a member of staff, when we did finally get served the meal was below par and they were out of essentials, waiter disappeared and we had to go searching for him - custom is apparently an inconvenience. When I contacted the hotel all I got was excuses. Go when it's busy because that's when it's staffed apparently. Oh and I wish the only tip I left the waiter was "be better next time."

Pluses and minuses with this one. First the pluses - great location, excellent and helpful staff, very comfortable bed, warm cosy room, lovely big plasma TV, pleasant pub altogether good breakfast although I felt the decor of the restaurant was a bit tired and needed an uplift.

Minuses - the accommodation is at the back of the pub where all the smokers stand. Our window (ground floor number 9, most expensive room) was the closest of all. Thankfully the night was very cold and there were few smokers, however, I cannot imagine what it's like in the summer.
Other minuses - noise (even the toilet) from the room upstairs; not enough light in the bathroom and access to the room via a corridor where the pub toilets are situated.

The location is super and very convenient. Parking not a problem as long as you are aware that you have to move your car. Importantly, the manager was keen to take the above feedback and note our 'minuses'.

Room Tip: If you want to be away from the smokers' smoke and noise, choose rooms 1 or 2 ie. the lower the...

Stayed here for number of nights found that the accomodation was very average and indeed it could do with refurbishment as the showers often leaked and the flow of water poor.he beds were average indeed travelodge offers better fayre at lot better prices.

Just back from a fabulous weekend in Chichester. This pub is perfectly located in the centre of town and has clearly been refurb'd in the last couple of years. Excellent quality ensuite rooms in converted barns out in the courtyard. Comfy big bed, warm, big flat screen TV, hot shower - everything you need. Staff really helpful and friendly at all times of the day. In the pub there is a great selection of beers (although I was sad to see that the Youngs Bitter had been taken off) and fabulous premium world lagers in Estrella Damm and Kirin. Great atmosphere in there when we arrived on the Friday night, full of 30+ year olds enjoying a few drinks on a Friday night. You must have the sausage bap for breakfast - simply the finest I have ever had and set me up for for both days over the weekend! Will definitely return one day.

An old-fashioned town centre pub with an open fireplace and comfortable furniture. A warm and welcoming place with a gentle buzz and really helpful staff. The rooms are in a converted block behind the pub. Although, not large they are very comfortable and well furnished. We did not eat in the evening but the menu had some interesting dishes alongside more standard pub fare. The dining room is a bright and airy conservatory with good solid furniture and fresh plants on the table. The traditional breakfast is freshly cooked and enormous! In summary, a great place for an overnight visit or weekend.

We stayed here for three nights in October. The staff were very friendly and the room was nice (a little small but clean and with everything you needed). Breakfast was fantastic. The location was great - really handy for the town centre and the walls walk. Overall I would recommend highly.
