“Weekend Break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2013

On arrival at Trents we were warmley greeted and as we were very early the room was being serviced so they took our bag and we went into town to enjoy the sights. When we returned the room was ready and we were delighted with the standard of decor, cleanliness and facilities. Jack asked if we wanted any water and duly brought us 2 bottles of refreshingly sparkling water. The bathroom was spotless and we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was super and the freshly squeezed orange juice was a treat. All the staff were very helpful and courteous.

Unfortunately Trents only have 5 rooms, so they're often fully booked when I have to stay in Chichester in business. But having stayed in a number of places in and around Chichester, Trents is my first choice. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, clean, well appointed - even with a little fridge containing a jug of fresh milk, water and orange juice. It's in the middle of Chichester, and Trents is a popular wine bar, but even so, what wakes me are the early morning deliveries to neighboring shops rather than Trents itself. I shouldn't be saying this, because it'll increase the likelihood of it being fully booked next time I need to come down, but you can do an awful lot worse than Trents (and I have!!!)

Room Tip: Number 5 is best.

Amazing customer service - had to book a room at Trents at the last minute to due weather conditions and they couldn't have been more accomodating. Room was lovely, staff were welcoming and banter was friendly and homely. Even in the event of not having any toothpaste the staff bent over backwards to see what they could do to solve the issue.

Food was good, holesome and fresh.

Will stay at Trents again and will be my accomodation and restaurant of choice in Chichester.

Just finished a weeklong stay in Chi at Trent's (arrived Sunday and left Friday). My group of five took every room up above the restaurant and pub. Yes, they only have 5 rooms total. My first comment is to realize where you are! If you are expecting the Four Seasons stay somewhere else. If you want to fit in and live like a local this place is perfect. The rooms are a realty good size for this area...larger than most with a full seperate bath area. There is virtually no drawer space but a good size closet with a small fridge, iron and board, and a coffee set up inside. I gather most of the rooms are the same...one room did have twin beds buth the others were fulls/queens. Heated towel racks seem to be standard and always appreciated. No wash cloths though? You get one full towel and one hand towel...assume you can get more but this was all I needed. Liquid soap/body wash gel was on the wall with the conditioner. One bar of face soap only that I used on the body and kept moving back to the tub after te maid wanted it at the sink :) the bathtubs are usually very high and usually only have a half a wall of glass and this was no exception. Easy controls and a large shower head was nice...plenty of warm water even when all five of us were showering at about the same time each morning. Our rate included a full breakfast each morning and it was EXCELLENT! Full menu available...the hash browns were a bit different but overall everything was exceptional each morning.
You will not find a nicer group of people anywhere no matter what time if day...they are all very friendly and willing to do whatever it takes to make you enjoy your stay.
One tip...if the WiFi is not working well simy call down and ask them to reset it...it can only handle so many logins a day and since it is free to everyone if can fill up.
Yes there is noise on the street from traffice and people at all times of the day but that is what make this place so great...you are right in the middle of town...enjoying the ambiance of it all. If you want a sterile room in complete silence please go someplace else...I have been to a ton of places and thousands of hotels and this one offers what many can not and that is the difference and the originality that it offers to every guest.

have been coming to chi on business for many years and until the present owner converted what was then a pub into what it is now, there really was a very moribund and dull selection of places to stay,my last stay was on a Sunday night and i was fully aware there would be live music and very good it was too, if you have wine with your food you shouldn't have any trouble sleeping.
The cuisine at Trents is without doubt the best in the area where they find the chefs is a mystery to me,the atmosphere is great particularly the terrace area,I have always found the staff to be very helpful and pleasant and have not experienced Emma 9090s waitress yet.
all in all a superb place to stay and eat, anyhow enough with the superlatives or i`ll never get a reservation again.

Room Tip: as they only have 5 rooms you will be lucky if get one at all.

It was a very good stay at Trents but then we knew it would be as we have visited the bar and restaurant on a number of occasions before. The actual room was a little noisy during the evening due to revellers below, but again, we knew this would be the case knowing the establishment and as a romantic night away it was wonderful! (and the noise ceased very promptly once 'time was called' so to speak).

The food was excellent and the attitude of the staff also, the supervisor was very professional on our arrival and showed us to our room which is almost unheard of in other establishments in this day and age!

Wonderful!

We live locally and regularly come here on our days off for lunch. Food is always fantastic, and could never fault it. But on every occasion, on a Monday, we happen to get the same waitress who is unbelievably rude.

I run a wine bar not far from chichester and would be disgusted if any of my members of staff were to treat and serve customers the way she did. Looks away when talking to customers, not once did she smile or look at all interested in serving us. I really felt as though we had ruined her quiet Monday afternoon! There was no interaction at all while taking our orders. Not once did she return to our table to see if everything was ok! There were two other waitresses on also, they were as I could see bubbly and smiling with customers! The service today really ruined the lovely atmosphere and fantastic food!

A lovely lunch really ruined by grumpy waitress!!!!
