From the minute we walked in the door Trents was a lovely place to be. The staff were immediately very helpful and carried our small & light suitcases up to our room. The room was clean & comfortable with everything that we could possibly want, mini fridge (fresh milk & juice a nice touch), hairdryer, iron & ironing board, wi-fi etc etc. The food was lovely, the Friday crab & lobster highly recommended, and the breakfast was the best that I've eaten in a long time. The homemade hash browns were amazing and I could have eaten a plate full of those alone. A short walk from the hotel is the whole of Chichester so is great for a weekend break.

Our rooms were great, goodsize, very clean and wonderfully comfortable beds. Would have been great if we were given complementary passes for the car park.... I had to dash out for 8am to put a ticket on the car! The room was warm and opening the window is not really an option as I was over the high street.AC would have been great. On A positive note the staff were kind and very helppful and the breakfast was heavenly!

Now here is a brilliant place to stay if you want to visit Chichester. Right slap bang in the middle of the town but unfortunately they do not have their own park area. You need to park behind the hotel in a council car park which will cost you unfortunately, but the hotel its self is a real find. The food was excellent and I wish I lived nearer as the breakfast was the best I have had any where with Hash brown to die for.
Rooms quite spacious and a fabulous shower. Absolutely every thing to hand and beautifully put together. Well worth 5 stars*****

Just to be clear, this is very smart rooms over a very popular city bar and restaurant. If you're expecting chilled public areas this probably isn't the place to stay.

Upside
Location in the centre is perfect, easy to walk around this lovely town, great destination
Downstair bar/pub is pretty good, decent selection of beers etc
If the sun is shining, it has a very nice outside area for breakfast
Easy parking (Pay and display) just behind the hotel
Bedrooms are very nice, decent tv, bathrooms good
Internet works all over the premises

Only downside is potentially the busy bar downstair. We stayed over the weekend, and the bar on Saturday night was pumping. Seems the bar has a very big following with the a younger crowd. It closes at 11 so didn't impact our sleep quality...

Decided to try this place for breakfast as this eatery came recommended.

We arrived at Trent’s just gone 8.30am ish and the place was already busy. We had not realised it is also a hotel.

Orders were taken down promptly and tea served within a good time period. For breakfast one of us had the scrambled egg and bacon on toast was ok. One of us had the veggie breakfast again was ok but found the mushrooms and hash brown really greasy. Had two pots of tea. Portions good size and breakfast did keep is going for quite a while.

We really enjoyed our recent evening meal here. Good choice on the menu for our party which included vegetarians. The puds were delicious and the cheese and biscuits amazing. The service was friendly.
