“Excellent value, clean and well run”
Reviewed 25 April 2013

Prior to my most recent business trip to Bradford and American colleague had warned me against staying at Jurys Inn - a hotel very frequently used by our company. That, of course, made me want to see what the fuss was about! According to my colleague it was a horrible place, so of course I had to see for myself.

The building is modern, especially in contrast to all the run down and collapsing parts of Bradford across the road. Check in was quick, professional and pleasant - no complaints at all. Hallways leading to rooms suffer just a little from the matte paint used as it shows scuffs and marks made by cleaning carts and passing luggage.

The room was clean, the bathroom spotless, and the linens fresh and comfortable. Compared to more expensive (American run) hotels there were relatively few bath towels (one) and some people apparently find the idea of wall mounted soap and shampoo dispensers unsavory - it didn't bother me in the slightest. There wasn't a great deal of spare space in the room once the bed, table and chair were accounted for, but it was sufficient.

My only complaint with the room relates to the card key operated power system, which meant that I couldn't leave electrical devices to charge when out of the room because the power is off if the card key isn't in its slot. The other main problem was the heating/cooling system - almost completely incomprehensible and of course it powered off every time you left the room and you had to start over again. I seemed doomed either to freezing cold or warm and stuffy, and I never really felt like I understood how it worked.

Free in room WiFi was adequate but not much more. The speed wasn't really good enough to stream video from Netflix or Amazon, but ti would hold a FaceTime or Voip call reasonably well.

Breakfast was excellent and really set me up for the day. Staff were pleasant and efficient and everything associated with the food service area was always spotless.

Excellent value, and remember to get your NCP parking ticket swiped by the front desk every time for a 15% discount.

Room Tip: Further away from the elevator is always preferable.

Stark room. Clean but no frills. A box with a bed. Ordered room service, steak, chips and onion rings. Arrived promptly. Poor quality steak, 2 bowls of chips and no onion rings. Called room service who said they would sort it but nothing happened.

Remote control did not work. Called reception. After 40 mins I chased. Then a replacement was delivered.

Not really impressed. It's been a few years since I stayed in a Jury's and I remember it being a lot better than this.

Polite staff but not very responsive it appears.

WeI stayed at the hotel for one night as part of a coach tour to Yorkshire. My room was lovely and spotlessly clean. We had a meal in the restaurant, food was very good, also the breakfast we had was great, usual buffet style, plenty of choice and freshly cooked, no complaints at all. All the hotel staff were very pleasant. Would definitely stay at the hotel again if we were ever in that part of the country.

We stayed here over the Easter weekend. The staff and service were excellent. The room was nice, clean, well appointed. My only complaint is that every time we left the room the thermostat would reset to 30C. We would return to an extremely hot room. We finally turned it off completely and were comfortable the rest of the weekend. It was an unseasonably cold weekend so that the room stayed comfortable with the thermostat off says something for the insulation. Housekeeping was particularly thorough. Everything was completely spotless each day when she was finished cleaning. The breakfast included in the room price was fine, not outstanding, not bad. There was plenty to choose from and all tasted good. If ever in Bradford again, I would definitely consider the Jurys Inn for my stay.

we stayed overnight with a coach compnay. very good standards, room nice. food good the only thing was with the food was they took a choice of you for the main, then came round asking if you wanted this starter if not it went to someone else. we sat towards the windows so when it came to the main which we queued in hot plate area we were last. the plates were very hot even with napkins on. the bar prices were quite expensive but wetherspoons was just across the road so it was not bad.
