“great value night away”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2013

Stayed one night end of October, as part of a special deal. Fantastic value £64 bed, breakfast, 2 course evening meal and a bottle of wine! Checked in and went to our room, however it stank of smoke so I rang reception and explained problem. Craig came up and although he said he couldn't smell it, he changed our room at our request. Spent of couple of hours in the gym, pool, sauna and steam rooms. Evening meal was good quality and value for money on our deal. The two waitress were busy but still had time to check our meals were ok. There was a Thriller tribute night on and I expect staff were busy in there. We did ask if we could attend but that was additional £28 pound each and included a meal that we had already paid for, so didnt bother. Bedroom was fine, too warm for me. Breakfast choice was good. Would definitely go again on a deal.

Room Tip: End of corridors are quieter.

After a tiring day we arrived at the hotel (we were on a coach trip) to be told that there would be a delay at booking us in due to a power failure. We all waited in reception and even though there were other functions taking place (wedding) were made welcome by all the staff. The male receptionist who was sorting this out was both attentive, patient and humorous and made us all feel special. Although we were only there for one night the staff could not have been more helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Our meal was served to us and we had a good choice of menu. Well presented and cheerful staff in the restaurant. The bar staff were great. Breakfast next morning was varied and plentiful and delicious. All in all the management need to be congratulated on their customer service, their wonderful staff and the good housekeeping of the hotel. WELL DONE and a special well done to the receptionist who dealt with us on arrival.

I attended a wedding in Bradford so stayed at the hotel with about 22 of my family members of varying ages. We had a lovely time and took up a lot of space in the bar lounge area each night. staff were kind and courteous and responsive to our requests. The accommodation was very comfortable and the bed better than most. I would certainly stay there again. Thank you

Good start by having a pleasant lady check me in. Got the lift to the room and one of the things I hate to see are plates and trays left in the hall way where rooms are, as these are from room service. Surely if the worker who moved them to that place could have taken them back to the kitchen. Now these must have come from a room not near where they had been placed as this part of the corridor had no rooms. Went to look at the dinning room. A sad little place partitioned off in the foyer. Time was 6.30pm. No tables laid, very unwelcoming and expensive. Decided to go for room service. Ordered a prawn club sandwich that had never been near a club it looked like it had been run over by a steam roller it was so flat and one piece if the bread was stale. Chips were so over done they where rock hard. Water was ok, had to be safe. as it came in a bottle. Cheese was good as well. Then I realised the cookies I had ordered had not come with the order but I had been charged. After calling down and eventually getting some sense out of the person who answered. They said they would take the cost of these off my bill. We will see tomorrow morning.. Over all not a very pleasant experience. I am only coming to these place to gain some reward points, not sure it is really worth it!

In the room blown bulb another pet hate. Why can the staff who clean the room not test the lights so when we turn up they work. The room was like a flipping fridge. All heating turned off. Again they must have known I was going into this room why wasn't the heating turned on? I know it was turned off to save money, but I am paying good money to stay in this place at least give it to me warm. I do not live in a fridge at home so why would I want to pay to sleep in one?

My daughter recently had her full wedding service here and can I just say a massive Thank You to Zoe Fox, David and all the staff for making this a fantastic day. The attention to detail given on all aspects was outstanding, from walking in on Friday to leaving on the Sunday the staff couldn't have been more attentive or helpful. We had the fully wedding package, had the wedding service, the wedding breakfast and evening disco and buffet, the food on both parts were enjoyed by all, this was provided by very friendly and professional staff, I would recommend anyone to have their special events here once again Thank you Zoe and Dave you are stars and an asset to the hotel chain
