“Excellent value, good size rooms”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

We booked a Saturday night in this Premier Inn for a family visit; paying in advance, the rate was £29.

I have stayed in cheaper hotels - but all were unpleasant experiences. This was well up to the usual PI standard. Our room had plent of space - king size bed, two chairs, and a sofa. The en suite was a touch small but about usual for Premier Inn.

Hot water was ok, it did take a long time for the shower to warm up at 8am on the Sunday.
Location is excellent - five minutes walk from City Hall, close to the Alhambra and St Georges Hall, also convenient for Interchange rail and bus station. (Indeed, our room overlooked the remains of the old Exchange station, for which a sign still remains, over an archway leading up to the car park for the courts which were built on the site after Exchange station closed in 1973!) It's not quite so convenient for Forster Square station, perhaps a ten minute walk.

The view from the window was slightly spoiled by the construction work for the Westfield shopping centre, for which this hotel will be very convenient when it finally opens.

We didn't try the restaurant (having bought snacks for breakfast from the Tesco metro in the city centre) but I have no reason to think it would fall below the usual high standard at PI.

Noise was not a problem: Bradford is unlike some othe northern cities, and not at all noisy on a Saturday night. The matress was comfortable - we both slept very well.

I would have given five stars if it were not for three very minor gripes:
1) The TV, despite being Freeview digital, was the same as all others I have used in PIs, and seemed to have no means of telling you what programmes are on later in the evening (my digital TVs at home do have this feature);
2) The bed was very high off the floor - my partner found it impossible to sit on it comfortably (but we did have the sofa);
3) There was a tiny stain under the loo seat. It had clearly not had the usual attention from bleach and damp cloth that PI bathrooms receive.

However, I will happily stay there again.

we stay here whenever we are in Bradford, and have to say that it is one of the best Premier Inns in the uk - nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they are excellent (especially Natasha) - rooms are cool and have air conditioning - soft fluffy pillows and duvet - disabled parking at the side of the hotel, or just round the corner is free - car parks nearby are reasonably priced - if you have a room on the top floor (there are 9 floors) the views are wonderful - they are building the new Westfield shopping centre opposite but we were not disturbed by that, and when completed the hotel will be ideal for shopping there - location is excellent for St Georges Hall, the Media Museum (free admission), and the Alhambra Theatre etc - not far from the railway station if you need to get into Leeds or York. This is just the best place to stay in Bradford :) ... and if you book early and can get a room for £29 you will have a real bargain break

Room Tip: good views from top floors - all rooms good

We stayed here for a couple of nights and found the accommodation to be excellent. The room was comfortable and cool despite the hot weather. The city centre, with many interesting attractions, is a couple of minutes walk away.

Great location for central Bradford, car parking available in quantity a short walk away. Usual good quality rooms, usual poor quality deal on wi-fi!
Hotel restaurant is only average, go out and eat if you can.

My family and I stayed here after an university visit to Leeds. Chose it because it was such good value for money compared to Leeds which is just 8 miles down the road. We were delighted with our choice-everything up to the usual Premier Inn standard plus the addition of the most helpful and friendly staff you can expect anywhere. In the heart of this resurgent and interesting city this is a very good choice for a very reasonably priced hotel in this part of Yorkshire-highly recommended.

Stayed for one night with the sole purpose of having a curry in the curry capital ( seperate review of Akbars to follow) and to visit the National TV & Media Museum, thats another review.
First impressions-its not the most strikingly looking hotel,just an square shaped building,nothing to look out on to apart from other buildings.However staff were excellent,spoke to 3-4 of them over the course of my stay and have nothing but praise for the warm welcome and genuine interest in why we had come to Bradford.The room was fine not huge but adaquate,the bed,bedding and pillows were so comfy.Slight downside only 1 towel was in the bathroom between the two of us and the water was not hot enough for a bath.Was ok for a shower though.Used the bar and the prices were really good for a city centre hotel.We ate out so can not comment on the restaurant. Safe parking 3-4 minutes away and only £4 for 24 hours.Well done Premier Inn for a lovely stay.Only a 5-10 minute walk into the centre.

Dear Lookie,

Thank you for your nice feedback, I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us, with a warm welcome from my staff. Sorry about the hot water for your bath, not sure why that was, after been the manager for over 2 years this is the very first comment about that. Hope Akbars lived up to its reputation? Lets hope we do see you again in one of our Premier Inns soon and thanks for your recommendation.
