“Strangest B&B ever”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed for 2 nights, the photos looked great in the website, we stayed in the Barn Conversion, we had booked a Deluxe Double Room, think the abattoir directly outside our room window with it's wonderful smell was the Deluxe bit!!!!! Decor very Polish, felt like I was back in Gdanak!! The breakfast was abysmal, when all you can hear is the ping of the microwave ever 2 mins you know your in for a real treat, poached eggs rubberised couldn't even stab the sausage with my fork, everything was pre cooked and then microwaved, for tea and coffee there's a big kettle and jars left out to make your own, breakfast was not even a 1* let alone the 5* they state on there web site. The whole place needs a good clean and a coat of paint and it should be stated in large letters on any web site that it is advertised on that it has a working ABATTOIR!!! Will most defiantly not be back!!

Stayed for one night. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We were in a self contained house that had a lounge/dining room and kitchen. The bedroom had its own television with tea/coffee making facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was separate and the shower had plenty of hot water. If others were in the adjacent bedroom this would have been a shared bathroom. The breakfast is served in a large conservatory area and ranges from a full English to cold meats and fish to fruit, yogurts and cereal. The surrounding views over the rolling Yorkshire countywide are lovely and there is parking and Wi Fi. On site there is a farm shop that sells a variety of produce at a competitive price. Definitely would use again and again.

Probably the worst thing I can say about this place is that 1 of my poached eggs was over cooked!!!

It was a great place, accommodation clean tidy & was actually in a self-contained house! Views all around were great!

Breakfast was out of this world considering it was included in price!!

Only booked 1 night, tried to book the following night but it was fully booked. NO SURPRISE THERE!!

Room Tip: Stay here! What have u got to lose!!!

I booked this as a one night stopover, I previously saw the pictures and thought it looks ok, i turned into the road road and passed a few homes then i turned into the drive, it was a typical working farm i thought with accommodation attached, I walked into reception to a pleasant welcome,it had a lovely lounge area to boot, i was shown to my room which was adjoining to the main building, I viewed the back gardens along the way, wow, what views one could see for miles, my room, yes my room wow, it was tasteful decorated with lots of luxurious touches, a nice size flat screen tv and free wifi, the ensuite bathroom wow again, it had an enclosed shower unit, it had an internal radio system and sauna/steam room facilities all enclosed, i was in the shower for ages, it was very nice.
The bed was so comfortable i would definately say the best i have experienced and i have seen a few on my travels, lovely clean linen and just right duvet a sound sleep i did have , the next morning was breakfast and all i can say on this note is a five star service and 5 star food, i was full for the day.
In closing i dont think you can find a better accommodation for the price, the price quoted is absolutely value for money down to a tee, the service and cleaniness is second to none, i am trying to get my travel plans back to the area so i can sample the delights again.

The room was comfortable. When I had the chance to sit in the garden the view was lovely. The owner Alan was very friendly.
Don't expect all the rooms to have good views - as I hoped from the advert.
If you don't have wifi in your room ask as the have a cable so you can still get on the Internet.

Stayed for 3 nights and overall very positive. Room was spotlessly clean and a good selection of toiletries, tea, coffee etc provided. A great location for visiting local areas. Only thing we would have changed is that breakfast room is set out with large round tables so you have to share a table, nice to mix and chat to other guests unless you have to share with grumpy people !

This was our second visit. We had previously stayed in one of the cottages but this time we were in the farm house. The room was clean and pleasant with a good supply of tea, coffee etc. The bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean with everything we might need. The bed was comfortable and we had a lovely couple of nights. The food was wonderful. We will definitely return.
