Bridge House
Ranked #17 of 20 Haworth B&B and Inns
Reviewed 20 August 2012

We booked to stay here for one night on a trip to Haworth to do some family history. Every other hotel in town seemed to be booked, so we were just happy to get a room. It's a little bit outside the centre, but really no more than a 5-10 minute walk up hill. We arrived and parked in the car park. It was earlier than the 4pm check in, and no one was there to meet us so we were a bit concerned. We left a message on the reception answer phone and a note in the car and went to wander town. When we arrived later in the day we were greeted at the door by a lovely, friendly young woman named Phoebe who acknowledged receiving our message and apologising for being out. It occurred to us then that this is a proper small, family B&B so it seemed perfectly acceptable. Phoebe showed us into our rooms, which were quaint and a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. The bed was massive (but a bit thin) and the room was very large as well. If you have back problems you might not like the bed, but it wasn't too bad. The following morning Phoebe prepared our breakfasts, which were completely adequate.

We didn't spend all that much time in the hotel, but when we were there we felt welcomed and comfortable for the most part. Other than being a bit dated we have nothing to complain about. Personally, I'd rather stay somewhere dated yet friendly and inexpensive than trendy and rude. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in Bronte country.

We needed a room for one night as we had planned a short walking trip to haworth but struggled as none of the hotels will let a room for one night only and had nearly given up when we came across Bridge House, a lovely old mansion style house at the bottom end of haworth just far enough away to be quiet at night but within easy reach of the shops, restaurants and pubs.
The room was spacious with light airy decor and a nice clean and well appointed bathroom, the breakfast was good and plenty of it and off street parking made this almost the perfect place to stay, the only down side is for people who have difficulty getting around because as i said earlier it is located at the bottom end of Haworth which has very steep streets, not a problem for the fit but some may find it hard work. A great place to stay.

I stayed here with friends mid-way through a walking holiday. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, modern and arty. The bathroom was equally spacious with good toiletries, nice towels and plenty of hot water. We enjoyed an excellent cooked breakfast, which set us up for the next day's walking. Furthermore, Martin the proprietor moved our luggage on to the next B and B for merely the cost of the petrol. The house is in a quiet situation at the bottom of the hill leading to the main street with pubs, restaurants, etc. It is a steep walk up into the village, which wasn't a problem for us, but might be difficult for the less mobile.

I spent two relaxing and peaceful days in Haworth at the end of a business trip to England. I'm glad I picked this B&B online. For me, it was the perfect distance from Haworth--not in the center of the tourist area, but close enough away to walk for anyone who doesn't mind the steep hill. Breakfast was plentiful and good, and the room was peaceful, sunny, quiet, and comfortable.

The owners made us very welcome when we arrived at this b and b after walking 11 miles to get there. Four of us were walking the Bronte Way and this was our third night on the trail. The previous two nights had been spent at very mediocre accommodation and therefore Bridge House was sheer luxury compared with our previous experience. We liked the spaciousness of the rooms, the arty furnishings and comfortable, warm surroundings.
Martin, the owner, cooked our breakfast and it was delicious. We also enjoyed fresh fruit - we had not been offered this at our previous accommodation. Martin also transported our luggage to the next bed and breakfast for merely the cost of his petrol.
I would have no hesitation in returning to this b and b and recommend it one hundred per cent.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are excellent, but we liked the twin room on the first floor.

Bridge House is located just a 2 minute walk from Haworth Railway Station (on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway) and a short walk from the main centre of Haworth. The walk is via a steep hill, but no problem for anyone of average fitness.

We received a warm welcome on arrival and were shown to our room, a twin room overlooking the gardens at the front of the house. The room was spacious, with an ample built in wardrobe, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Two chairs were provided by the windows. A previous review mentioned that the window couldn't be opened, although this was not a problem for us and the window was opened with ease. The B&B is in a quiet side of town, even with the window open sleep was undisturbed. The bathroom was clean and well presented, with a large shower. Ample towels and toiletries were provided.

Breakfast was served in a well presented room downstairs. It was served on a single long table for all guests, not a problem for us as we had booked all the rooms for a local event, but may be a consideration for others. Martin, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating with offers of additional fruit juice, tea/coffee and toast. Cereals, fresh fruit and full English were offered.

This was my second stay at Bridge House (the first 10 months earlier) and I will not hesitate to stay again in the future.

We arrived absolutely soaked and the owner immediately offered to put our clothes through the dryer for the morning. The rooms were spacious and perfectly well equipped, with a modern en suite shower room. It was quiet at night. The full english breakfast the next morning was excellent, with fresh brewed coffee. Overall it's a fine place to stay and the owners are very amenable but if I guess if you're picky about your interior decor then maybe go elsewhere. Good value
