“Incredibly Accommodating -- Best B & B in Yorkshire”
Reviewed 15 May 2010

We first stayed at Aitches during our honeymoon in 2004 and returned again in the spring of 2008. We showed up both times with no reservations and were given wonderfully comfortable rooms. I was pregnant during our second visit, and the proprietors went out of their way to give us a room with a shower because my doctor had advised against baths. The breakfast was wonderful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and I can't wait to stay there again!

we stayed for a weekend at aitches guest house have now stayed 3 times in total, we taken our dogs, we found aitches to be a clean and comfortable guest house where we are made to feel most welcome. we would definitely return to aitches, the negative comments earlier in this review we found to be untrue and would advise aitches guest house to others.

In February 2009 we booked a 7 night stay for September 2009. A few days before leaving we read the comments on this site and we were concerned about the negative ones. However, on arrival we found David the owner to be most helpful and courteous, helping us with our luggage and advising us about car parking.
The room was spacious, well appointed and had all the range of tea/coffee/water and sweets that were replaced completely when used. The breakfasts were outstanding and plentiful.
Someone on this site commented about not seeing Mrs. Evans. I'm not sure why that should be raised but the sad truth is Mrs. Evans died earlier this year.
David recommneded a circular sight seeing route that we did on our last day but we were onloy able to see half the sights as we ran out of time.
A most enjoyable break made all the more refreshing by the host David.

I stayed here with my daughter, aged 13, as a three night trip. It was excellent value, as the third night was free. We had a comfortable room overlooking the high street. Location is excellent - parking is right behind the guesthouse and is plentiful and cheap. I bought a ticket after 6pm, which lasted all night, and for the whole of the following day until 6pm again. Breakfast was great, and the host is very helpful. I found this B & B perfectly comfortable, quiet, reasonably well equipped (the TV works brilliantly which is rare I find!!) and we enjoyed our mother daughter trip immensely.

We had the twin room in the cellar and it was fine for one night--very comfortable beds, roomy than we expected, and quaintly in keeping with the rest of Haworth.

The best thing about Aitches is definitely the location--just half a block to the Black Bull and White Lion Hotel and the Parsonage. Would definitely stay here again. Good value.

We stayed here with our dog recently and have to agree with previous comments that the place is in real need of a good clean. We were in the "dog room" with our own outside access door, which was actually a very small basement room. It smelt damp, the wallpaper at the back of the bed was coming away, mould was visible around the small window and it just had an overall feel of neglect. Even our dog was not happy and she is extremely well travelled. The dining room was not very clean either and there were wine bottles on the hearth with months of dust on them. We did not see Mrs Evans, although her name appears on all advertising for this place? The owner was very friendly and helpful, even offering to dog sit our dog while we ate out. The breakfast he prepared was excellent, good choice and good portions.

Also, although the adverts state there is parking, it is for resident permit holders only. We were told we could park there after 4pm until the next morning, but we were still extremely worried that we may get clamped.

Overall we would not stay here again while the accommodation is in its current state. It is a shame because as we said the owner is very friendly, but I do expect a clean dry room and clean dining area.

Thank goodness I ignored previous comments on this guesthouse. We stayed two nights and found it to be fine. The guesthouse is on the main street which takes advantage of great restaurants and access to the moors. I went with my husband two children and mother in law. We all had a great time. The attic room is up a steep staircase, but does have a sky light. The owner was very accommodating putting a small camp bed in the room for our son. The rooms were clean and bright and the breakfast was certainly better than some hotels I have stayed in.
