“First Class Museum”

The Museum has been recently refurbished and is now equal to any Museum experience anywhere. There is much of local interest and especially seeing how the Butterfield family lived.
There are interactive displays, and much to interest children. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The surrounding Park is beautiful with lots of fine trees. The Castle is a real asset to the town.

“A lot more than meets the eye!”

Took my 3 & 5 year old here at the weekend. Parking is good. Playground is fab but not enclosed (kind of useful to know with kids that do a runner!), the museum itself is brill (but v warm!)...so many things to see, & more importantly with kids, a lot for them to do too - main highlights from the kids' perspective was the dolls house upstairs, the brick building in high visibility jackets near all the crystals/minerals, the sheer volume of stuffed animals & skeletons, the mummies, the minerals that glow under UV light, the dressing up & role play area, oh and the sheep you can sit on!...staff were really welcoming and friendly. The aviaries weren't populated it seemed but there was a nice collection of rabbits and guinea pigs behind glass to watch near the cafe. A really nice afternoon! Thankyou.

“Recommended visitor attraction.”

An excellent castle which has been lovingly maintained and kept to the highest standards. Friendly staff, and helpful guides if you want them. Definitely a good glimpse into life as it was in the castle all those years ago. Suitable for all ages, and ample parking facilities. A café nearby is a welcome stop for refreshments, and the grounds themselves are worth a walk round too.

“Well worth a visit.”

Visited here as part of a coach party sheltering from the rain so regrettably had only a limited amount of time. There is no admission fee but the museum is beautifully maintained and presented. So much to see, I could happily have spent all day wandering round, so will have to return! Do look out for the two-headed lamb!

“Like going back in time!”

It's great to see that the impressive victorian mansion has been put to good use for the community. A mix of stately home visit + local museum, with the displays showing Keighley life over the years. Good way to spend a wet afternoon.
