We stayed at this hotel over Christmas 2011 - the second time we've had a short break with this as our base. The hotel is fairly new so still fresh, clean and contemporary which we prefer. We opted for a double superior bedroom so it had a kingsize bed which was very comfortable. There was sufficient space and the bathroom was also nicely furnished with a lovely big shower head. One strange thing was that there was a kind of 'shutter' on the wall of the bathroom between that and the bedroom so when the bathroom light was on it shone through - not great in the middle of the night. On the other hand we found the main room to be a bit dark - it was difficult to see clearly in the wardrobe for instance. However, that's the only real problem with the room.

It's worth saying that this hotel organises lots of events and we have found it to be a bit noisy so I'd recommend packing ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The staff are generally very friendly and helpful although can at times be a little unprofessional - ie lady on reception discussing over the telephone a fight that had broken out the night before.

There are good facilities: bar, restaurant, fitness facilities, Starbucks. Unfortunately breakfast can get very busy and the staff, whilst working really hard, are not always organised so we did have to wait quite a while and ask three times for our hot drinks - but I put that mainly down to the fact that it was Christmas so very busy.

I'd definitely stay here again when visiting our family. We've tried a few different hotels in the area and this comes out top every time.

Room Tip: Double superior if want a King Size bed

Stayed last night@this hotel, after our Christmas party.the function was good and the food not bad, very slow coming out.it was gone10by the time we'd finished.the hotel itself is very average, staff on reception very good.the whole Place is very dimly lit which is very odd!we took advantage of the facilities and went for a swim, the pool area is very spaciou and nice.the worst thing about this hotel was the room,it was poky dark and very dingy.all in all a very average place to stay.

I stayed for one night on a business trip, I arrived later in the evening but the room was kept for me. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, modern and tidy, the only thing I would say is that the room was a little on the cool side. So I settled down for the night, I am a light sleeper and normally can't sleep that well for the noise inside the hotel but this was different. There was constant traffic noise that kept me awake, also the selection of pillows were either lumpy, pancakes or too thick. So I wouldn't say it was my best nights sleep. The breakfast was very nice with a good choice and very helpful staff.

Overall very nice clean and tidy hotel but with a couple of draw backs

Had an overnight stay on the way to Northumberland and was impressed, rooms really clean and comfortable and pool and spa facilities excellent.

Dinner in the bar was spoilt by music so loud it was unbearable and we had to leave, however could not hear this from our rooms.

Breakfast good, staff friendly

Room Tip: Better to be on a higher floor away from the lift

We stayed here during the Christmas holiday and took advantage of the Hotel's special 'visiting relatives' package. The hotel was busy with lots of families. The accommodation was of a very high standard and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Leeds area and we are definitely going back.

Booked to attend the New Years Eve dinner dance and have to say it was the worst ever! Before we got there, they were on the phone touting for wine sales. From the moment we entered the building, they were shoving raffle tickets for a mini in our face (actually on display both outside the front door and also in the lobby) then onto the most expensive bar in Leeds! £6.85 for a glass of £4 per bottle plonk. They were starting to take the p****. So to the table where we were treated to the fastest five course service in the world record attempt, and I think we broke it!!! Well it was New Years Eve, so back to the bar for another mugging and to add insult to injury, they then tried to flog more rubbish in the form of cheap tatty flashing rabbit ears and necklaces (thought I was back in Tenerife!). It's a good job the sixteen year old staff had cleared the table of cutlery (part of the record attempt) because I feel sure that I would have stabbed myself to death with a blunt knife! By 21.30pm, the food was bolted down, the tables cleared, the flashing rabbit ears firmly in place on two peoples heads, and no exaggeration, 90% of the people upped and walked out!!! The DJ was playing to the bar staff only before 22.00pm. This place is a DeVere hotel believe it or not! They should be well and truly ashamed of themselves! I will never ever set foot in one of their establishments again and will stand and tell anyone who will listen long enough how they constantly tried to violate me for every single penny they could extract out of my wallet.

Room Tip: My tip for booking a room would be to go to the Mint hotel in Leeds centre which is in a great locat...

Stayed here for night following works xmas party which was also held here. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Sarah and Shanna for helping sort out the party booking and the rooms. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. The xmas meal was ok. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Many thanks to all staff keep up the good work.
