Stayed here before a meeting in Leeds, not what I was expecting from a village hotel definitely have had a massive make over since I last stayed in one, check in was smooth although once getting to my room the card didn't work which was a pain but not too much trouble, once in the room tastefully decorated as you expect with a large chain, main issue with the room is I could only locate one plug socket, so charging my phone and laptop proved difficult, bed pretty comfy and clean although under the illusion of a 'snuggly duvet' it was rather thin and quite the opposite. Decided to visit the bar, staff were great, bubbly friendly and attentive, decided to eat as it was cheaper than their on site restaurant went for the gammon ask for eggs instead of the pineapple which was no problem, food pretty bog standard but adequate for my needs, would stay here again but only on an over nighter before a work meeting.

Stayed overnight as was attending a seminar at the same hotel the following morning. The hotel is a newly decorated, modern affair and the rooms are perfectly comfortable with an iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities and would have scored a 5 had it not been for two things. You need two things really for an overnight business stay. Comfy bed and decent shower. Whilst the bathroom is modern with a raindrop over head shower, the shower head was not clean and instead of the water dropping vertically down, it was spraying off in all directions.
Also, the in house/hotel restaurant was a Vinny and Vitos, which serves average hotel food. However what was anooying is that with the restaurant less than 25% occupied, the three or four staff were far more concerned with chatting and laughing with each other than actually servicing the tables. Unacceptable as they had no idea of customer service. Sort these two problems and it would have been a 5. Good breakfast.

Really great receptionist but the room was cramped and had a really depressing view of a concrete wall and no natural light.

the music in the reception varies from thrash metal to 80s pop and is far too loud!

the wifi is dreadful- suggest you use your mobile hotspot!

Final criticism- putting adverts for room upgrades around the pillows is not the way to win me round- I wanted sleep not a hardsell!

Room Tip: Don't use rooms on first floor if you want a view and a bit of space

We chose this hotel as a base with a little bit of luxury while visiting parts of Yorkshire, and were not disappointed.
I have to admit that the hotel is not in the nicest location. It feels a bit like an industrial estate just off the motorway, but the interior of the hotel definitely makes up for it.
The lobby is really modern, clean and well decorated with quality sofas, ornaments, fine fixtures and fittings.
Our room was absolutely gorgeous with really smart, clean decor, flat screen TV, and modern bathroom. The bed was large although just a bit hard for me. My hubby said it was fine for him though.
Our stay included full use of the leisure facilities which was an absolute dream after a full on day of Yorkshire site-seeing. There's nothing like a steam sauna and hot tub to finish the day off!
Breakfast was fantastic with a huge selection of both cooked and continental options.
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming too.

I stay here a lot on business and always find the welcome, the staff and the rooms, all of great value for money. I can not recall one instance of delivery below expectations.

A very good value hotel with good amenities and modern rooms.

The hotel itself is nice but the parking situation is shocking when arriving in the evening

The free wifi speed is awful at around 0.2 mob and then if you complain they put you through to the support desk so you have to waste your time sorting their speed out. Also the chairs in the room are far too low down to be able to work at a comfortable level. Oh and the TV pictures is grainy and they still don't have the sky news channel. If they spent a bit less on their 'V' campaign posters and brochures and little marketing cards then I might be V more happy to Venture here in the V near future. V far from
It right now though

Luckily I managed to get a great deal for the hotel from another booking site which was way under half price but I have based the review on had I paid more. The reception staff were warm and welcoming in typical Yorkshire style. My room was on the fourth floor and proved to be very well equipped, modern and comfortable. There are two places to eat - the Victory Bar and Vinny and Vitos restaurant. The food in the restaurant was very good but the choice in my view was a bit limited but don't let that put you off as I'm sure you'll find something you like!. I ate twice in the bar and the menu is what you would expect to find - quality was bit hit and miss as I guess it depends who is in the kitchen - the chicken on one day was very dry but the next day the fish was perfect. Breakfast choice is excellent and of high quality and again the staff are great.

All in all a comfortable stay - would love to visit again as I'm in the area for four days a week but at £90 per night corporate rate a bit above my budget every week but I may treat myself now and again !

Room Tip: For an additional £20 you can have an Upper Deck room - didn't try it but the option is there
