The problems started when we checked in and asked to pay for our room on check out (we were again asked to pay for it when we did check out) which we had already paid for in advance. Then after taking a £50 deposit for anything they needed to charge back we located our room number 104. This turned out to be a disabled room complete with lots of red emergency toggles, wet room, no bath but plenty of space. The view was also something to be desired- the loading bay of the hotel across the street.
On returning after dinner and a show around 10:30pm we found that because of the door through to the adjoining room we could hear every single word our neighbours were saying.
After moving to another room on the second floor we enjoyed a much quieter night. Why we were not given this room in the first place I do not know- it did make me think that had we been wearing a suit and tie the room allocation may have been different.
For the price we paid (£80 through MasterCard and lastminute) the rooms were nice however I would be tempted to look elsewhere if we were to stay in Leeds again.

Stayed here for a night to celebrate my wifes birthday and chose The New Ellington based upon comments made on Trip Advisor and because of the close proximity to the city centre. The service is really good, we were greeted with a warming welcome when checking in. The room was nice, though the only disappointment is that the air conditioning was loud.
By chance a few days before I happened to meet someone who had stayed here a few weeks previously and he recommended that we (in his words) "had to dine in the restaurant as the food is bloody fantastic" We were not disappointed, The meal we had was amazing with great service to match. Will certainly be staying again soon.

Stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate a friends birthday. The service is excellent, attentive but not overpowering. Rooms are nicely furnished with enormous beds and nespresso machines. The food in the restaurant is amazing and the wine list is very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again would recommend to anyone.

We spent a day in Leeds and decided top stay over and by chance stayed here. Great looking hotel on a quite street about 5 minutes walk from the main shopping area. Hotel and rooms quirky but very tasteful, staff very friendly but not overbearing, breakfast excellent. We have booked to stay again in a couple of weeks.

Lovely hotel, nicely refurbished. We loved the jazz theme complete with appropriate music in the bar where we had pre dinner drinks each night of our two night stay. Lovely room. Location is great because it is in a quiet street but a short walk to town. Parking is expensive but very handy to have. Staff were friendly.
