Stayed here on business for a week. The food is good with breakfast very good. I'd recommend the bar on the 13th floor as the views are fantastic. Beware though, it is not cheap. £6.50 for a glass of wine. The hotel is well run, there is a lovely terrace by the canal where you can sit and have a drink as the sun goes down. The gym is small but functional, no pool. Staff welcoming and helpful and the hotel is kept clean

Recently stayed for two two-night stays over weekends and the place felt very crowded as there were so many weddings, stag dos, private parties etc that 'normal' guests felt excluded. Glad that we had checked in on the Friday night as the reception on Saturday seemed rammed all day. The queues for the three lifts on Saturday night were awful -- all Skybar clientele and I do feel that hotel guests are neglected when the Leeds 'see and be scene' hits town on Saturday night.
Usual chaos on Sunday at breakfast -- waited for 20 mins and then had to wait ages for hot food to be replenished, drinks to be brought etc. If you can find somewhere that does a late brekfast in Leeds then it may be best to do room only or have room service as the breakfast experience isn't pleasant.
Rooms nice as ever though the staff don't appear to be up to speed as regards the vagaries of the Hilton chain as my Gold Honours status (through my credit card, not because I'm a regular Hilton user) is meant to get me a comp. upgrade every time if available and on a previous occasion the hotel wasn't busy at all (a Sunday) but upgrade came there none.

Room Tip: Queen rooms are quite small and the King ones aren't much better. Railway station side ones are...

We stayed when this was a Mint Hotel (last Oct) mid-week. The hotel is next door to the train station and only a 5 min walk in to the city centre. The rooms were quiet and spacious and benefited from a Mac which doubled up as a TV and pc (free internet). Breakfast was great, with a large selection of fruit and pastries, they also did a mean cooked breakfast. I would recommend visiting the Sky Bar - it had amazing views over Leeds.

We recently spent one night in Leeds on our way from Newcastle to Manchester to see the Stone Roses. The Doubletree brand is always reliable, and the location of this hotel also makes it a very good choice. 5 minutes walk from the train station, and situated in an area which appears to be undergoing substantial gentrification. Good chice of bars and eateries, and a local newsagent on the doorstep. All rooms in the Doubletree / Garden Inn brand provide iMacs as standard which is a nice touch. Clean, modern bathroom with nice toiletries. Rooftop bar is what probably makes this the best choice if you are in town for a night out - great views from the balcony. Breakfast was better than expected - although not cooked to order, the standard was really quite good. Smoked salmon was available, and a couple of other 'luxury' type items. For £65 with breakfast for two (booked direct with Hilton) we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: HIgher floors offer good views across the canal area

Just had a night away from the kids. Doubletree was perfect, ideal location within walking distance from the shops & bars. Hotel was friendly & welcoming, rooms clean ( although quilt had seen better days at it had holes down the seams). Lovely bathroom with great toiletries & shower. Breakfast was well worth investing in, nothing too much trouble making me poached eggs to order!

Special mention to the little Italian restaurant just outside, amazing lunch so went back for evening meal too. Service fantastic & as great value high quality food! Defo going back when we visit Leeds again
