“Lovely food”
Reviewed 8 February 2014 via mobile

We went to the Doubletree with friends for a meal on a Saturday night. We wouldn't usually go there for an evening meal but we had spent time in the Sky Lounge and decided to eat in the hotel due to inclement weather. We were surprised by the quality of the food, it was really very good. The waiters were very pleasant although they were a little short staffed so we had to ask twice for some water before getting some. However this could not take away from the food and the wonderful "extras" that we were given, which more than compensated for having to ask twice for water. We would definitely visit again for a meal, particularly as it is excellently situated for central Leeds.

Stayed here for 1 night for a conference in January.

Excellent service from all staff - bonus cookie on arrival and check in! Room looked a little basic on first arrival but bed was extremely comfortable and I loved that you could open the window (hate being in a hotel where you can only open the window 1cm). Mini bar with complimentary water - good if you were away for the weekend and wanted to take in your own fizz. Good shower and plenty of fluffy towels. Best thing - the apple TV - brilliant sound and I managed to do a few hours work from it the following day. Lovely touch.

Breakfast was super - lots to choose from and they didn't run out of anything - something I have come across at many hotels meaning you didn't get penalised for turning up 30 minutes before breakfast was over!

Skylounge - try the cocktails! We visited when it was Chinese New Year and they had lots to choose from a fairly reasonable prices considering the great view of Leeds.

Overall great hotel and I would highly recommend - also the late checkout (2pm) was an absolute bonus. Well done DoubleTree Hilton.

Room Tip: Make use of the Apple TV for the radio and for working from!

We stayed her over new year for 4 nights. Room very comfortable. Really nice lobby area and the sky lounge in nice trendy place to enjoy a drink. The in room facilities we're all modern and up to standard. Would highly recommend due to its close walk to the city centre so great for business and leisure trips. Some really nice rataurants around the granary wharfe area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room over looking the canal

Just very poor.
TV is an Apple computer that is full of style but fails to work much of the time, takes forever to switch on and off. What's wrong with having just a tv?
The menu is limited and they have the arrogance to add a service charge. Isn't it up me to add for service?
The room stinks
The aircon does not do cool. Warm or warm are the options
Plumbing is noisy
Arrive at the car park and press the buzzer (only option). Wait. There is a click and no voice. Hmmmm. Press the button again. "THERE IS SOMEONE COMING!!!!!" Well ok, I'm supposed to know that how?
Second morning there, a power cut. Dressed and ate breakfast in the dark. No comment from the staff
Just very poor all round.
Plenty of other hotels in the area. I'm sure they will do better than this.

Stayed here for 2 nights. It's in an excellent location, close to the train station. Couldn't fault it, staff very nice, very comfy bed and pillows. Breakfast was also very good, but the real star was dinner. They have an excellent 2/3 course option, which is really good value and the food was top class. Looking forward to returning here.

Arrival was fine, and we recieved cookies which was unexpected! I even got soya milk sent to the room (although I had to ask twice for this).Everything was fine in the room with Apple TV which allows the streaming of Netflix so we could watch any film we wanted! It was great until we discovered blood stains on the quilt and pillows. Phoning downstairs to inform the front of house we had a manager come up stairs to check but he didn't bring housekeeping! They arrived 10 minutes later and changed all the sheets on the bed. In the morning I had to haggle for a 25% discount (they were only going to offer me 10%). For blood being found in the bedsheets with a brand name such as the Hilton I had expected more! The staff were helpful enough. Aside this the stay was as expected for your average hotel. The other main problem is that you access it by going under the train station down a very dirty looking passage way with car parks either side. Wouldn't want to walk down there at night times!

Stayed last week and will definitely be back! Nice room; very clean and comfortable. Reception staff couldn't have been nicer. We had dinner included in our rate and what a good decision that was. I had a steak from the grill section and paid the difference. It was cooked perfectly. The service throughout the meal was faultless and really made the evening for us. We had a drink afterwards in the adjacent bar. It was fairly quiet, had a relaxing atmosphere and we were well looked after. We also had breakfast included so went down to the restaurant in the morning. We were welcomed warmly and shown to a table, given coffee and orange juice, then helped ourselves to hot food. A big thumbs up for the breakfast. The staff were helpful and efficient.
