We visited The Mansion with our 2 & 5 year olds early on a Saturday evening. We were made to feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The children's meals were brought out first (we were asked if this is what we wanted to happen and we said yes), they were a perfect size portion and both children ate every last bit of their Whitby fish fingers. We also enjoyed our food choices, they were delicious and again perfect size portions. We felt so relaxed and although it is a beautiful restaurant we felt totally at ease with our small children. The staff are very attentive and we will definitely be visiting again!

Visited here on a saturday night - very nice setting / decor. Unfortunately a number of the dishes on the menu weren't available as had run out. £22 for two courses was quite pricey for caeser salad followed by sausages & mash. Food good quality - long wait though. We were given an amouse bouche to compensate which was a nice touch. Overall enjoyable meal but wouldn't go out of the way to come back.

Went for a taster menu. Entrance to place is not well marked or lit. The welcome was really warm and helpful Andrew and his colleagues loked after us really well all night. The food was excellent with plenty of local produce

My husband and I went to the Mansion for afternoon tea. The restaurant is decorated to a very high standard, i would describe it as an historic venue which has been beautifully refurbished with a modern twist.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea consisted of egg mayonnaise sandwiches with spring onion, chicken and pancetta with sage and salmon with cream cheese. I don't like salmon and asked the waiter for an alternative. This was no problem at all and he recommended prawn with avocado. The sandwiches were beautifully made and were very tasty.
The scones were warm and came with a vanilla cream and strawberry jam. There was also a lovely walnut cake and also fruit cake. It was priced at £18.95 and it was worth every penny.
I will definitely be going back to the Mansion very soon,
