“Good Weekend Break”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We planned a weekend break in York, but because the Marriott there was full we booked into the one in Leeds. The drive from there to York was only 35 minutes long and the Park and Ride is to be recommended. It is a nice hotel in good location, although because of its central position it is not quiet on a Friday or Saturday night, as the various venues in the area make it busy. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is excellent. Very well catered for, lots of choice and a large quantity. Room was clean and daily room service kept it so. In all hotels nothing is perfect, but generally the standard of this one was very good.

I stayed at Leeds Marriott on Saturday 28th June as I was going out round leeds for someone's leaving do and this hotel was the perfect location it is central and everything from shops (trinity leeds) restaurants and bars are right on your door step (so no trouble with taxis) also the train station is probably less than 5 minutes walk. The exterior was lovely and well everything inside the hotel was beautiful. I stayed in room 219 and the room had two double beds and was very spacious also was a lovely room I did have room only so can't comment on food at the hotel however the bar and restaurant did look really posh. All the staff were very professional and welcoming. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who is wanting a super hotel in a super location with Super Service. I am going to stay here again in July I just hope I can get a room again at the fantastic £79.00. One word to sum up my first experience with Marriott Tremendous :-)

The rooms were a good size with really comfy beds.
Good bar & breakfast was lovely.
Just round the corner from the train station right in the centre of town.
Would definitely stay here again. Good value for a really nice stay.

Chose this hotel for a one-night Friday stay as it is in a quiet square next to the railway station. A typical Marriott hotel, OK reception, buzzing bar (on the night it was hosting a Prom night and a hen party or two - interesting combination) and the kind of bedroom facilities you don't get in a room costing £20 less - Minibar, Corby trouser press, ironing board, Sky Sports, decent complimentary coffee/tea tray.

The bathroom was a bit tired (brown water stains in the sink from a dripping tap) but it was all clean and tidy with good bed linen unlike some economy chains. Many Leeds city centre hotels suffer from 'exterior noise' generated by 'happy revellers' roaming the streets after midnight. Not this one. Given its central location in a square it is blissfully quiet and you can get in and out using your room key however late you get back.

All in all, well worth the £74 for the night and I would definitely recommend it for people who don't mind spending the extra £20 over a budget hotel room.

Dear TheMuscatFox

I am pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and all the hotel has to offer.

Due to the location of the hotel the rooms on the main road are triple glazed and this helps with the lively crowds at the weekend.

We hope to welcome you back to the Leeds Marriott in the near future.

Location could not be any better. We came to Leeds for a night out and a shopping spree the following day - so happy with our decision. We did not have far to walk for anything.

Staff were very friendly.

We stayed in a superior room. Rooms were spacious and clean.

We stayed just the one night and the hotel was very central. Big welcoming smile from reception on arrival and enjoyed the luxury of having our car parked for us. The 1817 bar was very busy for a Monday night with good atmosphere. Our room was large two double beds and it was clean enough. It was however very tired looking and in need of refurbishment.
Breakfast buffet fine good choice of fruit and pastries. Hot food was just that HOT.
Leeds is a super city and this hotel is just where you need to be. Thank you

We stayed for 4 nights over a long weekend in June. The hotel was busy, maybe because of the Test Match at Headingly. First indications raised our level of expectation; the concierge who took our bags and parked the car was excellent. But these high expectations all went a bit wrong. We were allocated an Accessible room (a standard room with bathroom suitable for use by disabled guests), which we didn't book or want; the receptionist insisted that the hotel was full and no other room was available that night, although he offered to move us to a standard room for the following nights (which happened). Several times over the four days we and other guests had to wait at the reception desk for a receptionist to emerge from the back room, which seemed to be their preferred place to hide. The concierge desk was seldom manned - inconvenient if he has your car keys. On our second morning we found there was only one set of towels in the room; not a big deal unless you discover this only when emerging from the shower dripping wet.

On the plus side our bedroom was comfortable and quiet, the TV was new and other room amenities were as expected. Breakfast was average for the standard of hotel.

in summary this is a potentially good product which would compete well with other similar hotels in Leeds, but the management need to be more attentive to the shortfalls and spend time and effort getting it right
