“Great Rooms, Excellent Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

Vert centrally located in the heart of Leeds this hotel has a real cosy relaxed feel about it. You can walk everywhere for shopping, entertainment and theatre. The lounge is not too large and the lighting is just right. I found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The room has everything you could want. Ironing Board, teas made and some additional toiletries add to the experience. The beds are extremely comfortable and the room was spotless. My one small gripe is that the breakfast is more expensive than the high street and so is the price of drink. A small bottle of water costs 2 pound. Would I stay here again .....absolutely.

I stayed here with a party of people attending a conference at the First Direct Arena. I shared a twin room with another lady. The room was very comfortable and clean but...... when we were ordering our evening meal in the restaurant, we realised that there were very many cross-dressing "ladies" gathering in the bar. They were dressed to party and were having a great time. It made for an interesting evening people-watching. However, when we turned in at about 11 the noise in our room from a nearby nightclub was unbearable. Finally fell asleep at about 2am! The following night (Saturday) when we went to bed at 11.15 the noise was even louder. We couldn't face another night without sleep and went down to reception where we were immediately given the key to another room which did not face the nightclub. We both slept very well thank goodness. The hotel staff were amazing, food in the restaurant very good, and we cannot complain about the very good attitude to us when we complained about the noise. It is such a shame as the hotel is in a brilliant position in the centre of the City and very convenient for shopping and restaurants etc. Obviously very close to nightclubs too!

Room Tip: Ask for a room which does not face the nightclub at the rear of the hotel.

I have regularly used this hotel as it is near the station (few mins walk) and nice and central.

The rooms have always been very comfortable and free wifi a bonus. Didn't eat in the hotel but the staff were very friendly when I checked in. The complementary glass of wine at check in is also a nice touch. Could probably do with a bit of a refurb, but for the money this is a good hotel and I would stay again.

We've been to the Cosmopolitan many times over the years for drinks and to meet friends. It's a relaxed place which is LGBT friendly- unsurprisingly being in the 'Pink Triangle' area of Leeds.
The staff are friendly and attentive and it has a upmarket feel to it. We like it a lot as it doesn't play music and you can actually talk to people in this vibrant part of Leeds!

Running late, we decided to eat in the restaurant- my wife plumped for the steak and I had the burger- both arrived quite quickly and were piping hot. The burger was freshly made and for the money, the steak was excellent. There perhaps wasn't the biggest amount of food served, but it was fresh and very tasty to compensate.

Our bill was pretty reasonable with drinks included- we'll definitely be back for one reason or another! As for the hotel side of things, I can't comment, but I know a lot of people who stay here quite regularly and have never reported any problems with their rooms.

After trawling the net for a place to stay and unsure of location I couldn't have choosen a better place.
It was a two minute walk from city centre. Great for nightlife and shopping.
The staff were very friendly and allowed us to leave our bags as we arrived early. Also when we checked out they again allowed us to leave our bags until we were leaving.
The room was very comfortable, they also upgraded us and was also very clean.
It also had the complementary tea, coffee and toiletries.
There was no food included but there was a restuarant attached. You could also order room service.

Room Tip: Phone the hotel direct and ask for a quiet room.

I have stayed at the cosmopolitan a couple of times and never been disappointed, The staff are very helpful and friendly and go out there way to help you. I had to cancel my date last week but changed to another day i telephoned to do so and shaun on the desk was so helpful and gave me a room (smoking) i asked for, also an earlier check in which i was so grateful for, because i find the 15hrs check in somewhat frustrating, But my room was ready and i was allowed to check in before the check in time. So Thank you Cosmopolitan and i will definitely stay again.

Pleasant enough hotel, clean, nice furnishings etc., but our night was disturbed by the antics of other guests right through the night, without adequate security to deal with it on site. This was not the high spirits of a stag/hen party, but seemed rather suspicious, with lots of comings and goings, banging on doors...?
The staff were very apologetic for the disturbance, and refunded my overnight car parking charges. We left early.

Thank you for your review.

The incident as you have detailed and realised was completely out of the hotels hands. Some rather unwanted visitors entered the building with a resident and caused considerable disturbance and this is certainly not normal for the hotel.

We do have security but after initial communication it was clear they were unable to deal with the individuals. I would not allow my staff to confront people of this nature as their safety may be compromised. They correctly called the police who took over an hour to respond and therefore the noise continued for a prolonged period. This incident was simply not within our control but it sadly reflects directly on the hotel.

On occasions we have stag and hen parties staying with us, any disturbance is limited to some drunkenness on returning to the hotel. Our Night Porter always ensures those guests who have had a “good night” are promptly in their rooms.

I am very sorry that you have left such a poor review due to your night being disturbed especially as it appears the hotel was to your liking and the staff were professional and apologetic. I have written to you directly in order to address your feedback personally.
