have just got home from a weekend staying at the Britannia hotel in leeds very nice large rooms very clean. staff were very helpful, and I liked the fact that when we came back to the hotel after a night out in the city there was security in the reception. would stay ther again and I would highly recommend it to others.

Booked 2 night stay so we could have couple beers .Sat/Sun At check in .Was greeted by lovely staff member she was happy & polite . Given room key and found its convenience to facilities was just as requested. The room itself was warm and first glance clean and comfy. But bathroom really let things down. Mouldy grout ,pubic hairs ,plenty of scum ,mirrors and glasses were covered in dirty soap splashes and well spittle from guest before cleaning their teeth. And the loo was very stained and bowl and seat had blood splashes .Tea ,coffee supply rather mean and when made ourselves a drink found it taste very suspiciously like the merger complimentary toiletries .Mmm Housekeeping needs stepping up for sure.Bed was a double but headboards in room were for twin bed set up .So lighting hit you in the head and one bed had part of light fitting you had to rest against as headboard was fixed about 12" away .Now the Java Lounge .Lovely ,wonderful really helpful staff .We arrived at Happy Hour on drinks .So had 2 meals and drinks for £20 .There was coach parties in with buffet in full swing. Staff were so attentive and all guests seemed very happy. Great evening good meal few drinks in comfortable surroundings. Sleep however was not so comfortable ,rather noisy both outside traffic and guests in corridors .Some with little regard for others that were sleeping .So had little sleep. Breakfast back in the Java Lounge ,Buffet Style all you can eat. Staff fantastic !!! Well done girls .Your happy helpful manner and pleasant banter really made us smile .Breakfast was lovely ,only thing we found a little odd was size of breakfast plates. Somewhat small and noticed other guests comment on this too .But you could go back as much as you wished. And selection was good and constantly replenished during service .Well done chef. The only thing letting you down was quality of sausages lovey :/ . Yet still value for money overall. We have taken all into account and would say no we would not stay again .Staff fab ,rooms need overall and housekeeping needs re thinking .

We went on the same weekend as Kevin H and agree with most of his comments. It is OK for one night. We had room 128 and agree that if we had been staying across the hall we would have had traffic noise. We had houses outside our room. So it was quiet during the night. The room was comfortable, not so the bed. We had a sofa in the room as well. The hairdryer worked, but why is there no mirror near the table that it is in. So I had to guess that my hair looked alright. The bathroom was small and had some mould round the bath. The shower was hot intermittently. So you did not linger having shower. As Kevin says the food was the usual Britannia buffet fayre, you would not go hungry. Considering the price we paid for the weekend, it was not bad value.

Room Tip: room 128 is quiet at night and has a sofa.

We arrived here for an overnight stay on a National Holiday budget mystery weekend break and were very pleasantly surprised with both the condition of the exterior and the initial reception area, we have stayed in a good few Britannia Hotels and this initially did not fall into the lack of maintenance look that tends to be the norm with their Hotels but then the bedroom... ours was Room 111 and though generally in a good state of repair the window unit looked close to falling out and was surrounded by black mould and gave no installation to either the cold or heavy traffic noise outside as the Hotel where we were situated was just feet away from a busy roundabout. Thankfully the traffic subdued when it came time to bed or otherwise we would have asked to move and we kept out a lot of the cold air coming in by pressing the curtain into the window unit. The room was clean otherwise, though there were signs of black mould again around the bathroom sink, the shower was operated from the bath mixer taps so was like Russian roulette to either get the shower valve to stay in place or to get the correct water temperature. In the dining area the meals were the usual Britannia self service arrangement and there was plenty of meal options for evening dinner and plenty of choice of breakfast items. Any food items that ran out were quickly replaced and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. With the seating area being in the reception area close to the automatic entrance doors which stayed open for a good while on someone coming in the area was cold a lot of the time. All in all a suitable Hotel for a one night stay.

Room Tip: Rooms either side or above & below of room 111 will face the busy traffic roundabout and the win...
