“Stay Elsewhere”

We booked this hotel and did not have great expectations as we have seen the reviews. Living in Leeds we have passed this hotel many times over the years and have heard many things about it. However, we were attending a friends Birthday party and the cost of a taxi would have been more than the price of a room. As such my Husband paid for an upgrade to an "Executive" room hoping that it would be a decent stay for one night.
On arrival we were met with at least 3 Stag and Hen parties in the reception area that had been drinking for several hours and it was only 2pm. We checked in and went to our room. What a Hell Hole. It was in need of a good lick of paint, the furniture was tired and chipped, it needed a clean and the view was over the bins and staff smoking area. To be described as "Executive" was a complete joke! When we booked we called the hotel to check the quality of the room and were told they had reserved the best room in the hotel for us! I dread to think about the other rooms!
Due to the other drunken residents we had very little sleep as they partied in the corridors.
Next morning we checked out before 8am.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

Thank you for your feedback, I was very sorry to learn that not everything went according to plan and at this stage can only apologise for any frustrations or upset caused. I will certainly address the issues raised as you should expect a certain standard and this was not delivered. I would like to assure you that this is certainly by no means our usual standard of quality or service, and I would hope this one off experience has not tainted your view of our hotel.

One half of the hotel smelt strongly of cigarette smoke and the other half of the hotel needed a good clean. Puddings at night were very adult orientated. The staff were very friendly though and the breakfast was fine. Some areas of the hotel could do with serious updating!

We recently had to book a last minute hotel up to Leeds and I chose Britannia Leeds Hotel. The hotel staff were fantastic, polite and friendly. Our room was lovely and clean and the bed was comfortable. We booked breakfast online and cannot fault the buffet breakfast at all. There was plenty of choice to cater for all tastes and the cooked English breakfast items were all lovely and hot. It was very relaxed and we were not rushed at all which was lovely. The hotel was easy to find; only 5 miles out of Leeds town centre, plenty of parking onsite (free).

A good choice of dinner for the evening, competitively priced (or there was a selected room service menu), pleasant bar/coffee area.

I cannot fault the hotel at all, and will definitely stay here again when we next visit Leeds.

I stayed at this hotel for two work nights recently as the hotel i normally stop at was full.I got a good room rate and read the reviews and thought i was going into a poor hotel, BUT it wasnt at all.The room i got was very clean, bed was very comfortable and clean, the bar food was very nice and competitively priced along with the beer.The shower was very good and controllable and the staff were excellent - very polite and helpful.The only negative points for myself were that the chair in my room was not the best - loose and worn and it was too low for the table which i was working on with my laptop, the shower room had nowhere for me to put out my toiletries - a shelf would be ideal.The bar area on both nights were extremely busy as there were one or two bus loads of tourists in which meant there were'nt alot of seats available due - walking is not a speciality for this area of leeds - so most guests remained in the hotel (maybe a good sign).
All in all i shall return if i get the same deal i got and feel that the hotel is not as bad as some people are making it out to be - having stayed in many hotels over the last year this is definitely one that i shall return to if the price is right!.Keep up the good work.

Room Tip: Some rooms dont have a window - ask before booking.

As someone who regularly stays in Holiday Inns which are very good, we needed somewhere to stay in Leeds at the last minute and didnt want to pay too much so chose this hotel, after we booked i read the reviews and was a bit worried (but one of them was complaining of a finger print on the shower head?!) but the beds were clean bathroom was clean, staff very friendly....the end of the hotel i was in could do with a lick of paint but where doesn't? It's not the ritz but its a good location in Leeds and ill be using it again very soon!

We booked this last minute at a rate of £29 with a slight sense of trepidation following one or two negative reviews. However our experience has been faultless. It is a motel and as such is more function over style bit everywhere was clean and well appointed. Spare towels and bedding in the room along with hair dryers etc. the breakfast was £5 a head extra but well worth it. The plates are a little small but it was emphasised that we were welcome to revisit the buffet as much as we liked. Once was enough to be fair. All the food was hot and plentiful unlike some other places I've stayed in the past. The whole experience was enhanced by the polite , friendly and helpful nature of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they remained cheery no matter how busy they got. Thank you for looking after us so well and at a great cost.....

I have just returned from an overnight stay at this hotel and was somewhat concerned having read some of the uncomplimentary reports on here. We arrived and were greeted by friendly and efficient staff, we went to our room which was on the 2nd floor overlooking the car park. There were quite a few tradespeople staying there on long term stays but this was not an issue as there was plenty of capacity in the hotel. We had the full english breakfast which was good and plenty of choice. The staff were very polite, jolly and helpful. The room itself was very bright, clean and tidy with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was clean, there was a very small amount of mold on the paint in the bathroom but it was up high and only slight, bearing in mind that it is an internal room that gets hot and steamy. All in all i was very pleased with my stay and did not get any noise from the car park either.
