“A nice hotel away from the center of town”
Reviewed 18 June 2011

I must admit that I was surprised when I found this hotel to be located "in the middle of nowhere" and right on a motorway, but once I was inside it was a different story. The room was large, comfortable, reasonably priced, and the restaurant was simply outstanding. Plus there was a cool pub a few minutes' drive from the hotel that was a fun place as well. If you don't mind a hotel with nothing around it, this is a quality choice and a great place to stay. And yes, the internet was FREE.

Initially we were dissappointed as we thought we were staying in Leeds, but how wrong we were. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a superior room, which was well worth the £20 extra. Very comfortable room, Excellent bed with a down duvet. We were going to drive into Leeds, but the staff advised usd to take the local train from Garforth station, £3. return, 10 minutes into the centre of Leeds- great.
Very good breakfast buffet for cerals etc, then a freshly cooked breakfast, good quality food. We ate in the restaurant every night, everything is cooked freshly to order.
My only problem was that it was not possible to open the windows in our room, the hotel is completely air conditioned.

Room Tip: Ask for a 'superior'

Hi Guys,

The Hotel is reasonably priced and clean, with great staff who are friendly and interested in you and your stay. The restaurant is reasonable - I'd give 7/10 for effort - 6/10 for taste and 8/10 for service. Breakfast is great. About £20.00 gets you into central Leeds for the night and York is half an hour up the road a good base of operations.

But the most fabulous part - My wife is a sensitive Coeliac and the hotel bent over backwards to accomodate her, gluten free breakfast was brilliant and a gluten free dinner was excellent.

All in all I'd say 7/10 for the room, 7/10 for service and 7/10 overal.

Room Tip: All rooms are well soundproofed so not needed!

Clean room (with an amazingly modern bathroom), friendly staff, free high-speed WiFi, excellent food - all-in-all made our stay worth remembering. Must recommend to anyone travelling that way - if you don't mind the ~30 minutes travel time to York.

We stayed at the BW Milford Hotel as a stop off on our journey between Buckinghamshire and Northumberland. We chose it purely because of location and price and were not expecting such excellence.

We know Best Western Hotels really well and were aware of their minimum standards, but were only expecting the hotel to achieve the minimum and no more.

What a lovely surprise it turned out to be and we will certainly go back there any time we need to be in the area.

The bedroom was exceptionally well appointed, the bed was supremely comfortable, the TV suited my husband perfectly with its quality and array of channels, the bathroom was new and beautifully finished, and the whole hotel gave a great impression.

We arrived after 9pm but were still able to have dinner in the restaurant, and breakfast next morning was brilliant. There was a great buffet for Continental Breakfast, followed by the luxury of a freshly cooked and delicious English Breakfast.

We can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Check route before setting off. Sat nav not brill!
