Me and my partner like to have the odd night away in a hotel on a regular basis, we stick to a cheap budget and we have to say this is a fantastic hotel at a more than reasonable price. its is spotlessly clean and the rooms have super comfy beds with plenty of pillows. The baths have plenty of room for 2 and also have the sound from the tv coming from a speaker above the bath, Ideal for a relaxing soak with the tv on a radio channel. The bar is also just as clean but a little pricey however its not the king of atmosphere where youd want lots to drink anyway as its nice and quiet rather than loud and busy. Staff are always helpful and polite the only real thing I could pick at (and id have to be REALLY picky) is when going to the bar its sometimes been a bit of a wait to get served as noone is around but its never been an unreasonable wait. Id say its an ideal hotel for a couples night away with a few restaurants and pubs within easy reach (5-10 mins)

What can I say? We needed an overnight stay and then a business meeting room the following day and we weren't let down. In fact, the quality of the room was superb. Couldn't fault it. Amenities great, staff friendly and there when you need them. Business room was also very good. My only criticism would be the computer projector - this could have been better I guess but it did it's job.

Well done Best Western, you've done the business.

Left happy and well rested after my one night's stay with them. This was a stopover to break a long car journey and, bar the in room internet stopping working the morning I checked out, I was more than happy with my stay. I would choose this hotel again.

There is nothing to complain about with this gem of a place (unless you have a lot of heavy luggage...no lift.) It is super clean, very comfortable and spacious, very friendly staff, easy to get to.

The hotel is located about 25 minutes outside of York, so you need a car to get around. It is best to use the Abscam Park & Ride, well signed on A64, rather than trying to drive/park in York. Heavy traffic and very expensive to park: 2.30 BP per hour! Parking at the Park & Ride is free and the bus fare is only 2.70 BP round-trip. (Make sure you keep your receipt to show on the return.) The car park is located next to a big superstore, so it is a good place to stock up on anything, as well.

The restaurant in the hotel is excellent. The portions are gigantic and are creative and tasty. Real Yorkshire pudding!

I have stayed here twice, and will use it again. Great helpful staff, food is good, and accommodation is spotless. Not quite the cheapest around, but well worth the extra few pounds Also, despite its proximity to major roads, it is very quiet at night!

Having had this nearby restaurant recommended by several we were invited by the In laws for a Birthday celebration-7 of us.
Table booked for 8pm and we arrived in goof time. The Specials Blackboard was brought out but after some 40 minutes it was removed as there was only soup left available. We had our orders taken as we searched for something else without a supplement on (we didn't want to take advantage of the generosity of the people taking us) and were gievn our starters by 9.05pm. Lovely bread rolls. We had to request the wine-and the bottle of red was plonked on the table without unscrewing the lid let alone serving the wine. The meal was very very average to tasteless. It was very much 'Chain Restaurant' standard.
How disappointing.

Clean, comfortable with a touch of luxury. All furnishings and fittings sparkling and look brand new. There were no faults to pick even though we were facing the road, we never heard a thing and one of the nights we stayed was very windy - still slept like a log in a massive, comfy bed. Stayed four nights, linen changed midway through. Had everything we needed - can't put into words the sense of pleasure and elatedness when we opened the room door first time - I actually pay three times as much for a room in Careys Manor which is the same standard as this one, but has a few additional facilities in the hotel. So this is a bargain by those standards.
