“Xmas shopping”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 December 2013

Me and my sister had a really good stay at the queens hotel, don't know where the negative reviews come from, from the minute we walked through the door until we left we had a fab time.We arrived early at 2 o clock and our room was ready,we had a lovely superior twin room,it was very clean, lovely and warm sometimes to warm had to turn heating down, breakfast we couldn't fault it plenty of choice,Staff were very friendly, its a fab hotel to stay in when shopping in Leeds close to everything,we will be coming back for sure.

Stayed four days to do the Christmas shopping. We go somewhere different every year and this hotel was by far the best. Central for the shops and restaurants. Worth a little extra to stay in one of the Q Club rooms. The room was perfect, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff all went that extra bit to make the break perfect - the receptionists, the concierge, the housekeeping staff, bar staff etc.. Thanks you to the Queens Hotel for a perfect break - really looking forward to coming back again one day.

Room Tip: Worth upgrading to a Q Club room.

We stayed here to make a start on Christmas shopping. We arrived by train at 10.30 in the morning, so we thought too early for check in. We asked the lady on reception (Demi) whether we could leave our bags, and she was genuinely friendly and helpful. She checked whether there was a room free and there was. We were checked-in in 5 minutes. The hotel gives a warm feeling and it was tastefully decorated for Christmas. The room was quite small, but big enough for an overnight stay, clean and warm. There was an iron/board, trouser press, coffee making etc all that you would expect. It is close to the centre, about 5 - 10 minutes stroll. There was a Christmas party on in the evening, but we weren't bothered by it at all. The breakfast was buffet style with a good, tasty choice. We stayed the day after, so left our bags with the concierge, who again couldn't have been more friendly. All were polite and helpful, thanks.

dated interior doesn't inspire when you first arrive but the staff but were very good.

Room was small and very cold on arrival but the heating was effective and soon warmed it up. Small shower/toilet but everything worked well and it was clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was average at best.

Given the choice I'd stay somewhere else but it was clean and comfortable; just not very inspiring or memorable

Nice hotel bar, lovely building, great location!

Didnt appreciate being knocked up by the african cleaner lady at 8am (presumably ensuring we hadnt slept in and thus wouldnt be stopping longer than checkout time) "sorry, sorry!"

Also reception quite veherment that we wouldnt be getting our room keys before the precise check in time - really... This is a 4* hotel not a Travellodge, & the hotel was far fr full.

Room was stifling & air conditioning simply didnt work, windows wouldnt open either.

Full sky in room + fridge was a big plus.

Dear krlsthjckl

Thank you for taking the time to post your review, I was sorry to read that not everything went according to plan and will certainly address your comments with the Head Housekeeper. I was pleased however that were able to provide you with some televisual entertainment.

I do hope that this one off experience has not tainted your view of our hotel and would welcome the opportunity to restore your faith.

Just stay at the Queens Hotel for one night again, the hotel was full ,but still got good service, the bad thing the valet parking was full, I did not arrive till late, but was direct to a railway station car park just around the cornier.
Had a bar meal good choice, breakfast good choice even with the hotel being full and no problems with noise etc, great location.
would stay again

Stayed on business and honestly rating against my experience of hotels across the world.
The Hotel is OK
Clean Room
Small Shower
I mean nothing to complain about but also nothing to rave about
You will get a clean tidy quiet room with personable staff right in Leeds city centre.
Stayed in a few hotels close to this and they are all of the same standard.
