Excellent location and lovely reception area. Check in was fine. I had requested a quiet room and I was allocated a room which was away from the lifts so the staff did try their best. Once I get to my hotel room I prefer to simply relax rather than chase up improvements...
My first impressions were noting how small the room was, I did gradually begin to adjust to it as the hours went by. Perhaps the worn out bathroom left me feeling a bit disappointed. Further issues included the empty minibar which did not work despite being turned on. I found the mechanical pencil almost laughable as it didn't even have any lead in. City centre hotels are great for their accessibility but not so great for light sleepers as the traffic noise is hard to ignore.
The positives included the room was clean, had tissues, a heated towel rail and most of the TV channels worked. The bathroom did have a good extendible mirror for makeup and good lighting. Perhaps I just wasn't allocated one of the nicer rooms everyone else on TA had!More
