“Gorgeous Ruins - a Leeds Highlight”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

I went to Leeds to visit my boyfriend. While it was cool to get to a new country, there wasn't a whole lot going on unless you want to shop. So one day I decided to walk from city center to Kirkstall Abbey. So, first recommendation, take a bus. There's not much to see along the way if you're in the mood for a long scenic walk. Once I finally made it out there, though, the ground were gorgeous.

I got lucky and it was a warm sunny day. There's not a lot to do once you get there: stroll the abbey, wander the grounds (sits along a river), and check out the gift shop. After a long walk, I wasn't there for very long, but that's my bad for thinking a three mile walk would be lovely. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in Leeds.

“Nice stroll on a weekend”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

Visited with my partner a few weekends ago.

Lovely little place - interesting to walk round and view inside the beautiful abbey! Doesn't take very long we were only here for 15 minutes but was free in anyway!

Apparently they have a deli market monthly and sometimes do film showings so I would definitely like to visit on those days!

“Go to this place if coming to Leeds”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

The entry for the abbey is free, and there are signs explaining the history behind it. The park is also beautiful, good place to walk as well.

“Stunning Abbey”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

If you can visit on an open day, it is well worth it. The abbey is in very good shape and on a sunny day it's quite beautiful.
They have a monthly market which is great as well as film showings every now and again which are very atmospheric.
