“Lovely long walk”
Reviewed 2 February 2013

Really nice walk, can be done as one long trip or as in bits.
Might be a good idea to have a look at a map before you go and wear shoes that you don't mind getting muddy.

“Great walk”
Reviewed 31 January 2013

Good place for a fairly strenuous walk because it can be muddy but good fresh air lots of trees & becks, just wear waterproof boots.

“Full of sights, tough for bikes.”
Reviewed 31 October 2012

We went here on a bike ride late October 2012. We found that it was really difficult for cyclists as there were random sets of steps dotted around the trial and a lot of narrow and muddy paths. However it cannot be denied that the sights were nice. A mix of different terrains and colours made this enjoyable. Its hard to believe that it runs parallel to Woodhouse Moor and Otley Road to Golden Acre Park. We only completed half as it was a cold day and we had bikes but would recommend this as a free day out if you fancy a change of city scenery in Leeds.

“Confusing Title here - Meanwood Valley Trail? surely”
Reviewed 16 October 2012

This can be taken in bitesize chunks or the whole thing - from Adel Beck rising at Cookridge Hall Golf Club all the way to it's outfall opposite the Royal Armouries.

Or you can hook into bits of it for a good walk or cycle.

The "URBAN" bit threw me - perhaps a confusion with MV Urban Farm.

There is a good walking and cycle route which takes you all the way into Leeds centre through a fantastic green corridor. Food stops at
Golden Acre Park
Monk Bridge Road (cafe at it's crossing) or Waitrose Cafe & Loos
Meanwood Valley Urban Farm
Town Centre

Scotland Wood is a beautiful dell and originally home to Scotland Mill (an important site in the development of textiles for Leeds).

There is a tunnel / underpass beneath the Ring Road, and then routes through the Hollies.
Or through Meanwood Grove connecting to Green Road.

The route is also popular with local running clubs.

“Good Walk”
Reviewed 26 August 2012

Went on the trail yesterday, lots of sights to see and interesting to see how the landscape and buildings change throughout the walk. Once past Meanwood Park and into Adel Woods it isn't very well signposted at all and we got very lost and completely missed the Aquaduct which was a shame! Nice to end the walk at beautiful Golden Acre and have a well earned cup of tea! Lovely walk overall and would do it again and recommend - but you need a map (available on council website!)
