“Really clear explanations”

The whole museum is put together very well, taking the visitor on a logical journey through ill-helath and medicine. Each section is well introduced with more detail for those who want it. Far better than many more modern museum we have been to.

“Very good for a first time visit. ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014 via mobile

I've been here a few times having worked in schools that come here for school trips and for the children its very good. Its very good if you've never been before and certainly kills a couple of hours. The victorian streets are really well done really portraying the sights, sounds and smells! There is quite a bit to see and they have a cafe and gift shop. These however are a little overpriced. The car parking isn't free, not sure how much it is but you do have to pay. It's one of those places that once you've seen it you've seen it and nothing really changes inside. Maybe if they did it wouldn't be a bad thing to have say a section that changes every so often, so people who have been may come back. But all in all a pretty good place.

“Really Absorbing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014

I went with my 7 and 9 year old, but I guess it was me that enjoyed the visit the most. We were there for 4 hours working our way around the exhibits. The older one loved the stench and squalor depicted in the old streets of Leeds. The younger one loved following a pea through the digestive system. I loved picking up many insights into medical history. The ticket price allows re-entry for a year and we will certainly be returning a few times over the next year.

“Definitely worth a look”

This beautiful old building houses a fascinating collection of medical curiosities, with a great deal of emphasis on the history and advances of medicine and related understanding. Very accessible information for lay people and children with lots of hands on exhibits.
Allow at least three hours to look around. bring the kids; There are a couple of bits that might be scary for wee tots but there are ways to skip them.
Also your ticket lasts for a year so if you dont get to see it all the first time you can come back.

A nice place to go to kill a couple of hours and has lots of tactile activities. Some gory bits. Don't take the scenic walk there!
