If you're going to be around on a Saturday evening, book one of these concerts. It's such a good night out at reasonable cost if you enjoy classical music. The events are mainly stewarded by volunteers who are really helpful. If you want to learn as well, there is a pre-concert talk about the music on the programme.
Really nice thing to do but you do need to book

We attended a concert last night by the choir ''Inspiration and the Opera North Orchestra.....Sat up in the balcony in a central location and had excellent views, the acoustics was great...Well kept internal hall, with beautiful ornate ceiling...seating well spaced and clean....The ''pipe organ'' is magnificent in appearance, would love to hear it played....maybe another time......Disappointment about the corridors and public walking area's...The carpets were dirty, grubby, and stained. Needs some TLC to the general public area. Toilets had no loo paper in, surely when such an event is on, organisers need to ensure facilities are kept up with. Folks using their mobile phone to video during the performances rather annoying and disrupted people across the way....caused a bit of a ruckus....shame people aren't considerate to others and refrain from using phones and camera's....especially in a packed auditorium ...

We sat on the balcony and were amazed at this incredible building, the detail and decor has been restored beautifully. It was a poetry concert, but the acoustics for the two bands was also good, limited bars, but that is to be expected, staff all helpful.
One slight complaint would be not sit at either end seat on the balcony, B1 view was greatly obscured by the safety rail causing you to have to lean at an angle to see performers - luckily seat 3 was free so I moved up for an unobscured view.

Went here for a concert. Impressive from the outside and far more so once you get inside. Obviously a proud set of burghers here when this was built. Huge pipe organ at the front of the main hall looked very impressive. The acoustics were very good.
Only slight niggle was the people keep drifting in and out during the concert into the bar. For a poetry concert this made it hard to listen, and I imagine perform

Leeds Town Hall is the venue for The Leeds International Orchestral Season. The selection of Orchestras and music is terrific. We have seats on the 3rd row so you can read the scores that the musicians are using !!
