Description: Situated on the rather swish York Place, close to Leeds mainline railway station, Miah’s Place is an Indian restaurant with a wow factor. Right from the outset you really know that you’re in for something special – the restaurant is set within one of the old red brick buildings, behind wrought iron low fencing, its subtle signage indicating that Miah’s Kitchen, a small scale chain making waves throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is perhaps a little more special than your average Indian eatery. Through the portico-ed front door you’ll enter a stylish dining room furnished in an unusual Art Deco inspired style, with ball topped lamps, sensuous lines and low slung leather seating, all in low key tones. Miah’s Kitchen offers an extensive menu of old Indian favourites, ranging from tandoori dishes to biryanis and baltis as well as a good collection of specialties created especially for the restaurant, using contemporary and traditional techniques. Surprisingly affordable, Miah’s Kitchen provides an upmarket take on Indian dining without the price tag.

“Excellent Food and Even Better Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2014

We didn't book and chanced that we could get a table, which was a bit risky for a Friday night after payday. Our gamble paid off and Miah's found us a lovely booth, big enough for four, but great for a couple.

The food was fantastic, being really tasty and (although this is subjective) authentic. The portions were pretty large, too, which I'd say is a good thing!

The service was polite, efficient and attentive. When asked if everything was ok, it seemed like they really wanted to know and really wanted us to enjoy the experience.

I'll definitely be returning, as this is my new favourite Indian restaurant in Leeds.

“Really friendly service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014

We chose this restaurant through a phone app looking for a curry on a Friday evening in Leeds City Centre. There was a warm welcome and very friendly service from the begining. The menu was varied with some different dishes and it was nice to try something new. No complaints, the atmosphere was pleasant and food service efficient, they were quick to replace the cold chapatis and everthing else was lovely even the complimentary icecream. We would definately go back.
