“Authentic and tasty but not mindblowing”
Reviewed 24 April 2014 via mobile

I've been a couple of times over the last month, once for the weekday lunchtime meal deal by myself and once with the OH for a bite to eat in the evening.

Firstly the food is lovely, very well made and yummy. The service is great too, very friendly but not overly familiar.

However, there is something...missing. I'm not sure what it is. The Pad Ga Phrao is nice and definitely with holy basil, which is always a plus but without a fried egg which is always a letdown. The Tom Yam is tasty albeit the tofu could do with being flash grilled before dropping in.

However, something about how the tables are all squished together so you can't have a private conversation, the way the chef keeps walking past you with a big bucket of dirty dish water and something about the food just leaves me...I'm not sure. Unsatisfied, maybe.

All in all though, it is pleasant and certainly worth the lunchtime menu price so I will be back if stuck for food at that end of town (if they'll have me!)

“Lunch with a friend”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Visited recently for a pre theatre Saturday matinee lunch recently on the recommendation of another friend. Very happy with both service and food. Would recommend and will certainly be visiting again. Bookings not taken for lunchtime meals so we had to be there at opening time - it rapidly filled up.

“Wonderful food, take yr own wine!”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

This tiny restaurant is sparsely decorated but the food is fantastic, they clearly put all their effort into the cuisine and good on them. I'm not sure they need another great review, they were jammed packed, you will need to book. Really delicious food of the highest Thai standards I've had anywhere. Excellent value. Don't be taken by surprise, this restaurant is unlicensed! Take your own wine. Really great waiting staff.

“Excellent authentic Thai Food”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

We went here based on the reviews on this site and we were not disappointed. Certainly from outside it doesn't look like much (especially being next to the adult superstore!!!!) and inside it is like a café, but the food is amazing. I've been to Thailand and had plenty of different dishes out there and the food in this restaurant was just like being back out there. Incredibly fresh tasting I couldn't get enough of it.

I'm glad we booked as all the tables were full when we arrived except ours and this being on a Sunday evening. It is only a small restaurant and it seems to attract a variety of different people including Thai students, which to me is a positive. Certainly it is very cheap compared to other restaurants in Leeds. Definitely recommended if you can get past the appearance and it's location being slightly away from all the main pubs and restaurants.

“Excellent food and service - and BYOB!”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

Had a very good meal last night whilst out with friends who have lived in Thailand so were after as authentic a meal as possible. We got it!

The restaurant is unpretentious and nothing really to look at. It's a bit 'canteen' but don't let that put you off.

Service was quick and friendly, despite the restaurant being full. You definitely need to book. The waitresses were helpful and charming.

Food was excellent. My soup was perfection. My husband had the special pork and morning glory stir fry and declared it to be superb. He is not a Thai food fan, so this is praise indeed!

An extensive menu so you're not stuck for something to try.

As its BYOB the cost per head was £14 for starters, mains and sides. Top notch!
