“Its ok. ”
Reviewed 12 May 2014 via mobile

We had the £9.99 meal offer in the afternoon. Was quiet and we got sat where we liked which was nice.
Salad was ok, the cold pasta had no taste needed Little salt for taste. Same as the coleslaw. We had ribs and fries. Bathe ribs were not that bad and had a lovely BBQ sauce on and we had a jd sauce as well. It didn't look like much but we were full and polished it all off. The ice cream was lovely. But it wasn't a sundae! Just ice cream with sauce on top. However it hit the spot. The staff Laura was good polite.
The only thing we didn't like was that it was freezing in there! And we had to put our jackets on. Think the ac was on a bit to much.

“Needs staff with more urgency”
Reviewed 27 January 2014 via mobile

My boyfriend and I decided to try harvester for something different, it took a while for us to e greeted even though it was quiet inside, we were seated and given our drinks, I asked for a fresh glass as mine had someone else's lipstick on it. The new glass also had some on it, which took about 10 mins to have it returned.
It took about 20 mins for our order to be taken.
The starter was disappointing and the corn was tasteless and watery. And then the main was brought to us before we'd even finished the starter, the two chicken burgers were tasteless and cheap. Mcdonalds would of been better!
You could tell they were making food on a budget.
Once we asked for the bill it was another half an hour before we got it.
Was quite off putting to have unenthusiastic staff who you could over hear being happy about finishing work soon and jut didn't seem interested.
It's good if you don't want to pay much, have budget food and no customer service.

“Birthday treat”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

We visited the restaurant for a family birthday treat. W e had booked as there were 8 of us and chose 5 pm Friday to visit. Our party ages ranged from 12 years to 68 years. Our waitress was called Charlie, and she was very friendly. We were soon seated in a pleasant area of the restaurant which looked very clean and fresh. We all chose from the £9.99 menu which included in-limited salad and soft drinks, a main course, and ice cream. The salad bar was very well stocked, plenty of choice, and really fresh. We had the choice of White or brown roll, and these were fresh also. Our main courses arrived promptly, and we were soon very full, and regretted eating so much from the salad bar. The good was very nice and plentiful. Then came the large ice creams. The soft drinks can be re filled, which the younger members of our party took advantage of. Charlie was very attentive and pleasant. We enjoyed the meal. And all we're very full.

“Avoid for the safety of your family, friends and yourself.”
Reviewed 16 December 2013

Please bear in mind that the food is sourced and cooked at a low cost.

With that said:

Chicken wings were microwaved and disguised as "grilled" by covering in BBQ sauce.
BBQ ribs also microwaved and disguised as grilled, was given 2 ribs, I found hard to find a few grams of meat on them, so I moved them to one side.
As with all professionally microwaved meat, the end result is rubber.

We were given 3 very large prawns as part of the surf and turf. You cannot be looking for a good steak for less than £20 so we won't discuss the steak. HOWEVER, we were given rotten prawns, white soggy shells, green flesh with legs covered in decomposing matter. If that doesn't give it away the smell certainly did. The chef could have been having a bad day, fine, take them away get us some which are safe to eat.

The waiting staff returned with a false smile to argue that the smell of rotting prawns were in fact "garlic" and the prawns are fine, and the chef also said they are fine. All this while holding what used to be prawns with decaying matter attached to the legs. Upon being invited to sit down and eat them, he left saying something I would leave to your imagination.

The combination of a CHEF lacking the professional ability in this instance to identify prawns soon to become zombies, microwaved rubber on bones, and a single entertainingly delusional waiting staff, I cannot recommend this Harvester.

Please note that there was an offer of unlimited salad... and that a different staff member who attended the table at the end was polite and did take a genuine interest and offered a discount.
If only all staff members were like her and took an interest in their job.

Selling food at a low price is great for business, but not if all of it ends up in the bin with no returning customers, hopefully not because they've all died from food poisoning.

“Harvester disappointed”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

Harvester Cardigan Fields on arrival looks modern fresh décor and inviting. However we were given then menu and then told 'do you know how it works?' and then it became confusing. 'This is the menu ' but 'this means that and that colour scheme means this ADDED to more confusion.' The menu is layout for you to choose from the menu type either grill, sauce and side dish so you build up a meal.We just looked at the back of the menu and ordered a straight forward SIMPLY CHICKEN dish £5.99 each. When served disappointment on the plate - jacket potato, chicken and peas. However you can bulk up with 'eat as much as you want' help yourself salad bar. Good job as the portion sizes on all of the dishes served are quite small so you need to bulk up with salad. The burgers price range £7.99 - £8.99 and steaks from £10.99 - £15.49. There is unlimited cola at £2.45 each. Overall experience was not enjoyable and the menu layout not suited for us. Very doubtful we would return again Disappointed choice on the menu. The best part of the Harvester are the toilets modern and clean.
