What a good area to visit there is everything you need, from a child play area to a good walk round the lake, fishing if thats what you like and remote boats to the larger sailing ones, canoeing, kyaking and the planes from leeds and Bradford Airport taking off and riseing at the lower end of the lake with the quick bike ride to keep you in trim, and don't forget the ducks, geese and swans, an interesting visit for all ages.

We've been visiting this lake for years, ever since our son was a baby ( he's now 10 .) It's always been a lovely place to have a walk round the lake feeding the ducks, watching the sailing boats & planes at the airport next door, finishing with a play on the playground for our son & maybe a trip to Murgatroyds fish & chips just up the road, a relaxing free afternoon out. This time we parked in the official car park & discovered the BMX track next to it. Our son had a whale of a time learning how to negotiate the humps & bends, all the kids there were really enjoying it & our son is very keen to return there, an added bonus to a favourite weekend destination for us. The car park did get very busy later on so maybe try to get there early. There always seems to be 1 person though who thinks the rules don't apply to them, it clearly states that the BMX track is for bikes only not radio controlled cars, yesterday ( Sun 29th Sept 2013 ) there was a man on his own in the BMX park operating the noisiest radio controlled car ever ! It was noisier than the planes on the runway over the hedge !! Otherwise a lovely afternoon out.

The Late September sunshine gave myself and Jackie a chance to fill our lungs with Yorkshire's finest fresh air so we decided to visit Yeadon Tarn in Leeds.

This wonderful lake set in parkland near to the Leeds/Bradford airport is an hidden gem and is enjoyed by all age groups.

The lake is a abundant with wild fowl and fish and is popular with many anglers.

A good footpath allows people of all abilities to enjoy the 20 minute walk around the lake, eating areas are available for anyone wanting to have a picnic and a children's corner is located near to toilets and the well appointed ice cream van.

I fully recommend this park for an afternoons stroll.

Just returned from another visit and walk around the Tarn, brought our young grandson here this time and he enjoyed feeding his bread to the many ducks and occasional swans. He then had a good play in the children's playground with the many rides and climbs etc for children of all ages.
There were sailing dinghy's on the tarn for him to look at, as well as quite a few aeroplanes taking off from the airport which is at the far end of the tarn. All in all another good Free visit on an early and quite nice autumn afternoon and it was nice to see it being visited by lots of families. If you've never been, then you are missing a treat and should make a point of visiting. For the older kids, there is a BMX track and circuit adjacent to the cemetery road car park.

Went here as a big family group and our children took their scooters and my 8 year old daughter took her bike so we could go round the Tarn (adults were on foot). Some old man with his wife sat on a bench tells my daughter sge isnt allowed to cycle and she immediatlet burst into tears which ruined the afternoon. What a fool. Cycling is different to a young child following her parents slowly on a bike. I wish it said no old people and we could enjoy the place better.
