“Old world charm with a warm welcome.”
Reviewed 17 March 2013

Been today for my first visit for a birthday party. It's like stepping back in time proper pub not a theme thing what you get is as built. Freindly staff nice meal and prices from a good few years back. It was a pleasure to buy a round in here.

“Live music and good beer”
Reviewed 24 February 2013 via mobile

Fantastic leeds brewery pub hidden away in hunslet. The decor is Art Deco with lots of original features and creates a great setting for an afternoons drinking, the Irish folk band & scrabble was an added bonus!

“Stunning Pub - A Hidden Gem well worth a detour to..........”
Reviewed 17 January 2013

A group of us had a tour of pubs in the Leeds area on Sunday 13th January and opted for the Garden Gate as the last watering hole of our tour.

This is a wonderful, ornate pub. Words cant really describe it, other than this is how a pub should be. The warmth of the welcome was astonishing, by both staff and the small band of locals present on a Sunday teatime. The beer was brilliant, and the only down side of the visit was that we only had an hour spare and had to leave just after 6 o'clock.

We shall return - the sort of place you really need a few hours in.
