I too was staying at the hotel on the weekend of the 25th Feb '05 and found none of the problems which the other people found. In fact, i would definately consider staying there again. The staff were nice and helpful, the rooms were big and warm - although one downside was the air conditioning unit was noisy! The bathroom was clean and no problem with the shower drain. We must've been lucky.

The location was ideal for anyone who wishes to explore the city - 5mins walk to the shops!

Have just arrived home after a weekends stay at the Sleep Inn, Vicar Street, Leeds. I admit I wasn't expecting much from this hotel and i went fully knowing that I hadn't paid much to stay there but I thought I could expect more than this! The hotel itself was well located, pretty much clean and quite modernly decorated but I had a stay there that was punctuated with problem after problem. On arrival our room seemed OK, however on closer inspection we found that the heating didn't work and only blew out cold air and the table lamp in the room was broken with wires hanging out of it. It was late so we left a note the next day for house keeping about these problems and went to sleep for the night, well thats if you can call it sleep with the amount of traffic noise from outside. On the second day we woke and went downstairs for what can only be described as an awful breakfast. There was a lot of choice but everything was either cold or burnt. We then went out for the day and arrived back at the hotel late afternoon to find that our room had not been cleaned at all that day so a trip down to reception later and we were moved to another room. In this room we were lucky enough to have heating that worked (not that it made much difference, we were freezing) however we had now inherited a blocked shower. Breakfast the next morning was again not good, and the staff seemed very confused about whether we had to pay extra for this and in fact who we were at all-and we wern't the only ones. To add insult to injury the reception staff tried to charge me 13.50 for eating their rubbish attempt at a breakfast on check out. Just take my advice and choose yourself a different budget hotel to stay in as this hotel is really not worth bothering with at all.

The hotel is in a central location within a few hundred yards of the main shopping area. However the immediate area is a bit desolate.

The rooms are clean and functional but a bit dated in terms of decor and furnishing.

The bathrooms are quite modern.

Good value if you paying 45 pounds or less but not worth the 60 pounds rack rate.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Nice room-modern with simple decor, nice white duvets and big pillows. Tv did not have cable channels or a radio but was sufficient with terrestrial tv stations. Bathrooms were clean with a large shower-very powerful! No bath though which is a little disappointing.
Check in was quick as was check out. Reception very small but fully staffed at all times-even in the middle of the night when we came rolling in!
Breakfast is diabolical though! If you can negotiate a rate without breakfast it'll be worth the money you save! We had a selection of lukewarm cooked items available-baked beans, watery scrambled egg, fatty bacon and cheap sausages accompanied by a small selection of breads and fruit juices. We were not shown to a seat or asked if we would like tea or coffee which I would expect in any hotel where breakfast is served to be quite honest.

Overall this is a good central hotel close to all the city centre attractions and shopping/nightlife. I would stay here again as it was a good budget hotel at a good price and the rooms were of a higher standard than expected of a 2 star hotel.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this newly-remodeled hotel. We paid 54 GBP per night, which was a bargain for the area. We had a king-size bed, which is somewhat unusual for England. The air conditioning worked well.

The staff was very cordial, and took really good care of us. We also asked for standard American bedding (sheet and blanket) instead of a duvet cover, and they accommodated the request quickly.

The buffet breakfast was tasty, but somewhat limited. It cost 6 GBP extra, but was convenient.

We'd definitely stay there again.
