“What a Find!”
Reviewed 14 February 2012

Travelled a day early to be near Airport for early flight so had not booked anywhere. After searching in a circle couldn't believe it when we saw the hotel and restaurant sign - like finding an oasis in the desert! Very friendly staff and wonderful attention, first class meal, reasonable prices, good parking.
PS Try running the basin tap (rather than the shower) for quicker hot water to room. Expect squeaky floorboards too!

The main problem i had was no hot water at all on a saturday morning, not even luke warm!! What is the point of having an ensuite!! When i mentioned this when booking out it was met with 'i'll have to try sort it out' rather than a 'sorry!'

The room nicely decorated but dusty.

The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. The restaurant is clearly popular with the locals as it was very busy.

This hotel is about 7 miles (ish) from Leeds centre and very easy to get to and find and I would say a great choice if you need to be in Leeds but don't want a city centre stay. It has recently been refurbished, very tastefully and in keeping with the building and all the common areas were very comfortable to spend time in. Would also be good for Harrogate and sightseeing in the area.

The rooms were of a reasonable size, well decorated and reasonably appointed and very, very well insulated!! We were above the restaurant and you genuinely could hear nothing of that in the room nor could you hear any traffic noise at all.

The restaurant is really great. A varied and interesting menu that is very well priced £13.50 for 2 courses £16.50 for 3. You'd be forgiven for thinking that at such a reasonable price the food may not be great but you couldn't be farther from the truth. It was all cooked using quality ingredients, their butcher is excellent judging on the meat we had and it was cooked to perfection, medium rare came as medium rare for example. All 4 of us had something different and we all enjoyed every mouthful and it came with a great choice of veg and potatoes. The wine list was very reasonable (think starting at £15 a bottle although may have been £12 but you get the picture) and the service was excellent. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and accomodating to a fault.

On a practcal note we were travelling with a baby and our baby monitor worked from the room to the restaurant and most of the bar (sitting in the corners farthest from the bar was a bridge too far!) This is great because we can eat in peace knowing that our baby is safe and it's a swift walk upstairs if a noise is heard, just like home! Room could fit the cot in, we brought our own, not sure if they have one to use.

Yes I would recommend this both as somewhere to stay and also to just have a meal. The restaurant was full while we were there so clearly local people are switched on to the good food and cheerful welcome too!

There were one or two small niggles but they were dealt with very swiftly and didn't impact on our stay. Just what we want from a hotel and we will be back on our next trip to Leeds.

We both got married and held our wedding reception at the Peasehill House Hotel. It was all organised extremely well. The room for the marriage was set out very well and there was a lovely atmosphere. The meal was excellent as was the evening buffet.
The whole day from the ceremony to the evening celebrations was thoroughly enjoyable mostly due to the friendliness of the staff and their very calm and professional approach. Nothing was too much trouble.

Family staying over at the Hote.l also were full of praise for the hotel and staff and the breakfast was extremely good. Well done Peasehill. Pete and Jenny

I stayed at this hotel for almost a month (for business) a while back and had a wonderful time. The family that owns/runs the hotel and restaurant could not have been more accomodating to my needs. The rooms are cozy, but very comfortable. The quality of the food in the restaurant is surprisingly good, and is a tremendous value. The formal training of the chef is evident in the presentation and high standard of the menu.
In summary, go to the Peasehill House for the comfortable accomodations, be pleasantly surprised by the high quality food and enjoy the wonderful people that try to make your experience memorable. Rashid Ashraf
