Me and my friend travel across leeds to visit this amazing deli
The food is home cooked and tastes amazing
I only wish I lived closer so I could go every day.
The meat free scotch eggs are one of the best things I have ever tasted.

I work just up the road from Nichols, so it is somewhere we frequent as a treat for a lunch out. However, the reasonable prices mean we can go and not feel too guilty about it.

I love the bean burger with chips (nice fat wedges, really), and the roti is great (basically dal in a tortilla - perhaps not what you expect, and not really a roti, but a really lovely lunch all the same) - make sure you get some of their lovely tamarind chutney!

We always treat ourselves to a glass of wine, especially because the prices are so reasonable. The kind staff are very welcoming, and are working very hard to cater to all of their different clientele.

I'm not veggie and neither are my colleagues, though I gave up meat and fish for lent. I can genuinely say that, lent or not, I did not consciously notice a 'vegetarian' menu - that is to say, a meat eater will not be disappointed by the range of meals on offer here. The food is varied, exciting and appetising.

I haven't sampled too many of the cakes, but all I've had have been lovely - particularly a new one, ginger and polenta? Ginger and carrot? I'm not sure. It was certainly yummy though. This cafe is perfect for a good chat over a satisfying and tasty lunch, and I'd recommend it as the best eatery in Chapel Allerton without a doubt.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your visits. It is surprising how many non-vegetarians do come in and enjoy our food; I think the key is ‘exciting and appetising’ as you point out. We always bring new dishes on weekly to add to the variety.

The wine is organic and vegan and as you say at £2 a glass very reasonable.
Cheers.

After visiting Nichols yesterday with my son , we came away with a big smile and full tummies.....We are both "veggies" and found the menu to be not only cater for ourselves, but also had choices for vegans.I had cheese and mushroom toasted sandwich served with a fresh crisp salad and homemade coleslaw ,my son had an omelette served with wedges.....and cheese of course which must have been delicious because the look of satisfaction as he eat his meal was evident. To finish a perfect lunch we shared a slice of homemade carrot and ginger cake with frosting ...a smooth tasty piece of heaven....a perfect end to a lovely day.Nichols deli was a real treat with the most friendly staff who were very helpful and clearly took pride in what they do. A takeaway menu available and a wide choice of products to buy ...the perfect gift for a loved one. We will be returning ......from Michelle and Kurtis xxxxxxxx

Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to write a review.

Many of our regular customers follow either vegan or gluten free diets and it is essential to vary the menu to the needs of our customers.

So pleased that enjoyed your visit; we both look forward to seeing you and your son again soon.

Best Regards

This is a nice little deli with some decent options but beware of the vegan chocolate cake. It was truly the worst cake we have ever tasted. Perhaps there was some mishap in the baking but it tasted very odd, bitter, stale and very heavy. The frittata also wasn't good.
However, the lemon polenta cake is lovely. The all day breakfast was also good.
The staff are friendly and you can park outside most of the day.

Thank you for your kind comments and taking the time out to review us; we are so pleased you enjoyed the lemon polenta cake and breakfast.
We do not make a chocolate cake so assume you are referring to the mocha cake which has coffee as an ingredient and is therefore not as sweet as you would expect from a chocolate cake. Because eggs are not used in the recipe the texture is different; but we can assure you that all our produce is fresh.
The frittata is made of free range eggs, tomato and plenty of good quality spinach.
We are exclusively vegetarian and also cater for vegan and gluten free diets.
