Myself and my partner joined a friend on Easter Sunday for drinks. It was approx 8:50. We'd visited with the intention of having 2 or 3 drinks, as had no work the following day.
As my friend had his little girl with him, they left shortly after 9pm.
Except the owner and staff member, there was only one regular left other than us.
With no warning, the owner did everything possible to make us feel unwelcome. Music off, doors open to a chilly breeze, yet he hadn't offered last orders, or even said he wanted to close early.
The final straw however, was when he let 2 dogs out his flat to roam all over us! We know it's a dog friendly pub, but having been for a nice meal elsewhere, we were dressed quite smartly, and had the owner used common sense, it was obvious we didn't want the dogs attentions.
We finished the drinks, the owner could not wait to follow us out the already locked gate to let us out. Ironically he thanked us.
Having vowed not to eat there again after a luke warm Sunday dinner some weeks earlier, we will never step foot in the again for drinks either. It's a shame, as his staff are pleasant, it's a great location, lovely traditional pub, but the owner clearly has very little interest serving drinks past 9pm.
