“DIsappointing”
Reviewed 1 October 2013

I booked this room knowing it was a budget hotel but did not bank on the aggressive receptionist who informed me they did not do alarm calls. I also did not bank on having to wait over an hour for my food on two separate occasions nor having fish swimming in grease literally or a soaked bun with my burger. The rooms are basic and small. Unfortunately, it call itself a budget hotel but the service, staff and food fall well below par. Avoid it on business. It probably works for one night but the TFI Friday’s next to the hotel is probably a better bet for food

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you found the receptionist aggressive, I will certainly be looking into this. I can assure you this isn't usually the behaviour of the staff and I’m sure it wasn’t there intention to be aggressive. I hope we are able to welcome you back again, please be advised that wake up calls are set on the T.V's in the rooms and our staff will be more than happy to assist you to set a wakeup call. Your feedback about the food will be passed onto the Food & Beverage Manager. Kind Regards, Alistair Good

This hotel is convenient for all the City attractions and deals can be got at a good price. Good points - clean and comfortable and modern with free wifi. Bad points - road noise car and breakfast not amazing but only £8. Parking in confusing car park ran by council. Best to park up then sort out 24 hours inside the hotel but at £10 this is more expensive than Heathrow. Check in was efficient but not welcoming. Overall ok if you get a good deal

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet one away from the road and cross your fingers

I stayed here whilst doing some extra hours for work during clearing. The hotel was reasonably good value and the room was of a good standard. However, I did have to wait quite a long time to check in, as there was only one member of reception staff who was also dealing with telephone enquiries,

The major question mark as to whether I would stay again comes down to the hotel's location. I walked to the hotel from Leeds centre at about 9:00pm and it didn't feel 100% safe, crossing busy roads using footbridges, it was quite secluded and badly lit. Not the hotel's fault per se, but I'd probably feel more at ease booking a hotel on the north side of the ring road or near the Armories. Also, the hotel is next to one of Leeds's biggest student halls of residence. I stayed out of term time so this didn't cause any problems...not sure whether there would be a problem during term time.

Overall, I would stay here again but only if other options weren't available.

A weekend visit to my daughter and booked into Ibis as Leeds buzzing on weekends with stag/ hen parties and prices can be outrageous. The Ibis is close to train station and 10 minute stroll to the bars in city centre, on main road and traffic is constant and can be noisy also no car park so need to use council car park and cross main road. Town planners need to be aware that as Ibis next to student accommodation a pelican crossing here would be useful and not the one 200 yards away. The hotel itself was clean and staff friendly, check in was easy and no problem. The room was spotlessly clean with nice shower room, plenty of pillows and a comfortable bed. The only issue during our stay was the constant and annoying keycard kept discharging, being on the twelfth floor this meant journeys up and down in the lift. Maybe changing the keycard instead of recharging them would have been helpful - I ha to ask for another keycard as the receptionist wanted to keep recharging same card. Breakfast was quite good the scrambled eggs were disgusting looking so not attempted. Why hotels serve buffet type breakfasts i cannot comprehend, the food wastage must be immense. A budget hotel who delivers on the main requirements, clean hotel with plenty of pillows comfortable bed within walking distance of city centre.

Room Tip: If possible request room facing away from road as traffic noise 24/7

Arrived to be told that our room (for 2 nts) had been CANCELLED...??? They told us they were fully-booked and there was nowhere for us to stay...after much messing about the duty manager agreed that the poor girl on the front desk could "force the booking through" and give us a room for just the one night (at more than we had expected to pay) and someone else would be told they had no room later when they arrived.....
The room = basic, plastic "pod" type bathroom, bed quite comfy, basic refreshment tray (no biscuits!!)
The location = DEF not in centre if town...£5.50 in a taxi to get into town... Located in student accommodation area.

We went to Leeds for a retro night and stayed at Ibis Leeds, hotel was fine, clean rooms but it wouldn't take much to clean as the room was so small, watch out for the step into the bathrooms, i nearly broke my neck! it was a 5 minute walk upto town from here and was quite cheap (£52) we only stayed one night but would stay again.
