I stayed here on 7th September with my husband, The girl on reception was lovely and she was friendly and efficient. Our room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was spotless with plenty of hot water. Car parking was £9 for an overnight stay which we thought was very reasonable.

I feel though, that I need to mention the "banging pipes" which obviously started when everyone started having showers on the sunday morning!

We had a lovely weekend and every thing else was good about the hotel including the location.

Dear ILLIAN C,
Thank you for your review.
It is great to see that on the whole you enjoyed your stay with us and our team looked after you well.
I have made a note of the banging pipes and we will see what we can do to alleviate the noise in the future...
Hopefully we will welcome you back again in the near future.
Kind regards,
Michael

Stayed here for one night as was seeing Elton John at Leeds First Direct Arena. The twin room was lovely and spacious, clean and quiet. In contrast building work was ongoing in the lobby and bistro areas so the first impression of this hotel was very disappointing - we had not been given any advance notice but as we'd be out from 7pm until late we decided it wouldn't impact on our stay.

Due to to constraints we opted to eat in the 'pop up' bistro which was not very appealing but we needed to eat before the gig. There was plaster coming out of the walls and the booth seats were sticky but again, we put tis down to the renovation work. We each ordered a fish finger sandwich and chips with a beverage. Upon ordering at the bar I asked if I needed a table number and the waitress gave me a number and a plate full of full size condiments and cutlery to carry across myself! When the food arrived it was shocking - value standard fish fingers (2 per sandwich) and ordinary sliced bread. My chips were also covered in salt and when I got towards the bottom of the bowl I realised there was congealed cheese on the chips/ bowl.

When my tea was brought over, there was no milk and I had to is turbo a group of 6 staff to ak for some! The only other customers at the time were sod if the workmen.

To the credit of waitress who I approached at the end and explained my concerns, she was very apologetic and offered me a full refund of £15 for the food. As I said to her, during such renovation work I would expect staff to go the extra mile to minimise the impact on the customer experience. As I only paid £65 room only, I was satisfied with my stay overall but if you are thinking of staying here I would suggest ringing ahead to check the state of the hotel before booking!

Room Tip: We were on 7th floor and had no complaints about noise. Twin room had o double and one single bed.

Dear Riocat,
Many thanks for your review.
I must apologise on behalf of the team for the poor level of service received. You are quite correct in saying that we should be going that extra mile, especially when in the midst of a refurbishment. It is good to see that my colleague compensated you but the points you raise are basic, and they should have been delivered as standard.
Please again accept my apologies and hope you can stay again on your next trip to Leeds. I am sure you will agree that the new spaces created look fantastic.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Kind regards,
Michael
