Reviewed 3 April 2013

just got back home to s.wales after a 3day stay in leeds east .we had a disabled room with the smallest of double beds you could imagine .cmon premier inn disabled people need more space for goodness sake! and b4 you think i'm being picky we have stayed there twice b4 and never with this sized bed very small far to low for my wife who is disabled if you want a true disabled room review then let a disabled person design your rooms for disabled very bad showing from you ..

Room Tip: make sure to order a bigger bed.

This was a fairly basic hotel. Its a premier inn - they are all about the same - but I've stayed in nicer. Also stayed in worse.

Food - did not have breakfast - far too expensive.
Wifi - could not get it to work.
Staff - only had dealings with reception. They were helpful and nice.
Room - overrall it was ok. Had a bit of a whiff about it. Window was a little drafty - but it was below freezing outside for most of our stay. Heating was fine once turned up a little. Bathroom was ok - though no heated towel rail. Overrall a lack of places to dry towels (some of which were fluffy and nice and others weren't).

Easter welcome pack for the kids was a really nice touch.

Overrall - no real complaints - we got what we expected. Will probably stay here again.

We had a business trip to Leeds and so booked a number of rooms for a one night stay. I find with Premier inn that, on the whole you know what you'll get as they are pretty standard across the board. The reception staff were very friendly and my room was only just down the corridor and was clean, warm and what I would expect. The pub next door seemed nice, we only stayed for a drink so can't comment on food but the morning breakfast was fine. Plenty of options and when the OJ ran out they refilled straightaway when I asked. There was plenty of parking and also designated spaces for women at the front due to the back car park being quite dark (not sure if this is a sign of issues in the area) but it was a nice touch! It is about 4 miles outside of Leeds so would need to drive or get a taxi if you want to head to the city centre.

we are used to staying at the Premier Inns and have become accustomed to the hit and miss standards. some are fabulous others medium and a few diabolical.
Leeds East was in the latter 2. the heating did not work at the coldest weekend in March for over 40 years. we had a dreadful first night but the staff saw to it that we had an extra quilt and an electric plug in heater. Thank you chambermaid.
The breakfast was in a pub across from the hotel and was not quite to par and neither was the service provided there. The second morning was even worse service and 4 items on the menu not available. The Brown Cow and Dragon let the hotel down badly.
Getting a bit disheartened with Premier Inns and so not living up to the adverts.

Have used Premier Inns many times, I know what to expect. This one falls short a little to the normal standards of Premier Inn. It is in need of a little work. The room was nice and warm, bed and pillows were normal standard (very good). Bathroom lets the room down, still has Hot and Cold taps, no mixer taps. Shower curtain still a bar not a loop to move it away from you when in use, no heated towel rail. Just a few things that make it just okay, not good. Stayed in room 202 to the front of the building, did get a little road noise during the night. Pub next door is not good, it comes way below Beefeater standards. We had evening meal and breakfast, edible, but not worth talking about.

Next time I'm in the area I will look elsewhere.

Would I rebook? No.
Would I recommend to family and friends? No.

I expected every Premier to be really about the same. Not in this case. On a wet day we arrived at the hotel pretty low in spirits but we did expect to be uplifted by the two receptionists. No chance! More concerned with the booking reservation we had to change our reservation to a reservation more suited to our needs. We were given no help with the area or the hotel facility or layout. The walls in and out of the hotel could be more decorative with very little expense. Our room was adequate and clean but during our day there the room noise from above ours was a little disconcerting. We could have had two chairs in our room because we were two people needing to sit down without sitting on our beds. The breakfast arrangements were shabby but the food above was good with plenty to eat. Continental breakfast and full English both an option. BUT it was a Premier Hotel who do promise value for money and we certainly did get a cheap nights stop. Two people, twin beds, large room, breakfast optional. ONLY. £68! A similar night at the city Marriott would have cost us £130 plus £20 per night parking fee and getting in and out of the city chaos!

Room Tip: State nearby locations/attractions like Temple Newsome House only a mile away AND. the M1 link also...

Clean and comfortable, paid saver rate of £19 so this was a bargain. Easy to find, just off major road. We had breakfast at pub next door, this was nice, but i reckon they could make these £2 cheaper to entice more people. Just right for us.
