“Interesting”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

Last time I visited Lotherton Hall was with a school party over 12 years ago. How things have changed. Entrance fees now are per person. There are discounts for Leeds Card holders though. The house is very well kept and has lots to see. Very interesting. The bird garden has changed and no animals. The gardens had their winter bedding planted and were very tidy. There is so much to see and lots of open space for walks at any time of the year. Very enjoyable. Onsite facilities to suit all.

“Lovely day out”
Reviewed 17 October 2013 via mobile

We took the dogs for a walk round and day out. Lovely grounds and stunning house with lots of things to see and think about. Loved all the original items! Was a bit disappointed that the Bird Sanctuary had closed its doors to dogs though but we do understand why. The Bird Sanctuary was lovely and very interesting to see the different varieties. All in all a good day out.

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

We are glad you enjoyed your visit to Lotherton Hall and thank you for your understanding about not allowing dogs into the bird garden. Although we are sure most dogs will be well behaved we cannot risk distressing the birds.

We hope to welcome you again in the future.

“What the?”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

£5 each to park your car. Mmmm I don't think so. A poor idea from the management I think. I have been here several times before and it's ok. But I ain't being charged to visit the whole site when is just want to walk the grounds as a break from driving. You can't even visit the cafe without paying your money.I'll go somewhere else.

We note your comments about the admission charge but we do believe this is good value for money as not only can you walk around the grounds and woods but also enter the bird garden and house. The costs do compare with other similar attractions. We are sure you can appreciate that the house and gardens need to be maintained.

“Fantastic day out”
Reviewed 15 September 2013 via mobile

We had a fantastic family day out here. It's really good value compared to similar places. The park is good with things for older and younger children. The bird garden is really interesting and the house is lovely inside. It's a great idea to put things in the children can touch and to have the dressing up room so they don't get bored. There was something for all of us here and we had a fab day out.

“you will love it!”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

want to find a day out for all the family? well look no further. £5 admission charge (£4 for concessions) and this includes the hall, Edwardian gardens, playgrounds, Bird Garden and walks plus parking . Wow ! Lovely weather today midweek, not very busy , just right . The Bird Garden was brilliant especially the Africa exhibit where there are no barriers between you and the birds. The Edwardian Gardens are stunning with fantastic herbaceous borders packed with plants and all in tip top condition with gardeners working as we walked round. There is a good childrens play area with adventure climbing frames and slides and a helterskelter which unfortunately wasn't in use today.. Icecreams very good value at £1.20 for a big cornet and toilets in a pretty good condition. An interesting house with some nice bright airy rooms unusual for a country house with lots of printed information and also informative guides . We would definitely reccommend for a good day out .
