As far as parks go, Roundhay Park is one of the best we have been to - spacious, well maintained, mix of manicured lawn and native woodland and simply pretty. There are quite a few walking paths (if you're up for a few hills) and the ambiance is heartwarming. It does get quite busy on a sunny day, but the best part is the Mr Whippy van which circles the park. A great, relaxing day out.

We took the dogs and had a walk around the lake, very busy but we had a good time and managed to find a seat near the café to grab a well earned coffee. Its good to see the park looking well. We need some more concerts as it s a perfect arena.

In the sunshine, with the crowds, we enjoyed a walk around the large lake. Ver large park - didn't see it all.

Roundhay park is pretty far from the city centre but definitely worth a visit. There is a very big lake, ruins of a nice and old castle. The park is full with squirells and the information board said even foxes live inside the park, but I didn't see any during the two hours I've spent my visit.

I have lived within a few hundred yards of Roundhay park for 15 years and would never move away. 2 lakes, a great lakeside cafe, canoe club, gold course, the Fox pub/restaurant, the mansion house restaurant and information centre, all the other restaurants and pubs on Street Lane, 2 play grounds and a skate park. It is great for people to walk their new babies, cycling, walking the dog, running and boot camp training sessions - definitely something for everyone. And it never gets old with the different seasons and weather.
