Avebury is an amazing place and staying overnight made the experience even more memorable. The Lodge was a lovely, welcoming place to stay and once the day trippers had gone we pretty much had the village to ourselves. The room and bed were very comfortable and in the morning we were treated to a lovely breakfast in a room overlooking the ancient circle. Andrew was a wonderful host. Highly recommended.

The Lodge is approaching it's 12th year in operation and having people come and stay in your home is 24/7 hard work, especially when your business remains open all year round and you have other business's too. The Lodge isn't a hotel, it's a Bed & Breakfast and it genuinely makes running a it a whole different experience when you have lovely people come and stay! Thank you for the kind words and praise. Welcome back any time!

Lovely bedroom and comfortable bed, but the vegetarian cooked breakfast, complete with veggie sausages, was rather tasteless. There is nothing like a really good cooked full English breakfast to send you on your way when doing a long distance walk and this one did not come up to standard. It was, however an ideal location to commence walking the Ridgeway.

The Lodge, Avebury has welcomed a myriad of guests from all over the world since 2003 and is widely advertised as a vegetarian bed and breakfast, owned and run by vegetarians.
Whilst constructive criticism helps any business, bigoted and prejudiced reviews simply offend. No one is telling this reviewer what to eat, where to go or what to do. They weren't made to book accommodation here, but having done so, were treated in a courteous and professional manner, shown to a comfortable and well appointed room and given ample suggestions to help them enjoy their visit to Avebury. From the moment they arrived a series of bigoted and offensive comments about vegetarians were made which suggested a broader prejudice. Why stay in a vegetarian bed and breakfast whilst fostering such an overtly vitriolic prejudice towards vegetarianism?

The Lodge Avebury has two rooms for rent, one room for two people and the other for up to 3 people. There were 5 of us and we were quite happy with our three-day stay. The proprietor, Andrew, was most helpful and knowledgable about the region and its history, This is a vegetarian B&B. Our entire party was omnivoire and we really enjoyed the veggie breakfasts. Right across the street are the standing stones - you can see them from the windows of the B&B. We would return in a heartbeat!

The Lodge is a little expensive, but the location is excellent and the breakfast was beautiful and overlooking the stone circle. There were no surprises with the vegetarian meal, it was clearly stated with the hotel information. Andrew was helpful with information and arranging a taxi for us, and the pub next door had good food and a great atmosphere.

Amazingly the Lodge brings you right into the heart of Avebury Stone circle. This vegetarian boutique hotel serves great breakfasts. Upstairs rooms look strait out over the magic Stones which when free of traffic at night and in the early morning is quite stilling and enticing. Silbury Hill is but 30 minutes brisk walking away which on our visit sported a crop circle too which was a real double wammy. Be prepared for a little sparing with Andrew who has a very humerus delivery. director and producer of interesting DVD' s he will get your creative juices flowing. The Red Lion next door
Provides excellent food & liquid refreshment. Parking is free as The Lodge provide a Parking Pass which makes exploring so much easier. A stones through from the Post Office and The Henge shop this location can't be beaten.

This is by far the best Bed and Breakfast accommodation we have ever stayed in! Avebury Lodge is situated within the Avebury stone circle (in Wlltshire) so when you open your bedroom windows in the morning, you look out onto 5,500 years of neolithic history! We received a very warm welcome from the owner of the Lodge, and quickly felt very much at home. A splendid vegetarian cooked breakfast is available every morning, and we were provided with a parking permit for use in the adjoining car park, which was very helpful. We were given the key to the front door (and to our rooms) so we could come and go at our leisure. The rooms are beautifully furnished (and spotlessly clean!), each with their own bathroom - a big "plus" in our books! We thoroughly recommend the Avebury Lodge, and are looking forward to our next visit!

Room Tip: There are only two bedrooms, both facing out onto the front garden, and the Avebury stone circle. T...
