We booked a double room for b&b last minute when our usual hotel was fully booked. Both the room and the tiny ensuite were dirty and unclean. Surface cleaning had been carried out but there was scum, dust and fluff on skirtings, tiles and around taps. The decor was very outdated, peeling woodchip paper and faded duvet cover. It could have been straight from the set from comedy series Rising Damp. The bed was very uncomfortable, a very cheap tread bare antique divan with hard foam pillows. The garage petrol fumes flooded in from the window but the room was so hot we had to keep it open or suffocate.
Downstairs could only be described as complete mess and disarray.. We asked to use an iron and ironing board but the owner couldn't locate one... Dirty cat food trays on the floor where the owner stored the catering milk tea coffee packs...
Breakfast was the only saving grace... Except for the happy shopper yogurt it was home cooked and piping hot.
The shower was a trickle and fluctuated between warm and freezing cold.
The owners need to employ a cleaner and spend some money on the place.
