“First class service for disabled cinema-goers!”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

We were given the very best service at this cinema on a recent visit! Initially, when we visited to buy our tickets, we were greeted in a very friendly way by the lady on the ticket desk and the Manager came to discuss with us the practical details of our visit regarding a wheelchair user. On the evening of our visit to see La Traviata, live from Glyndebourne, we were greeted at the disabled access by the most helpful young man who politely did everything he could to make our visit comfortable and enjoyable. We had a lovely evening and will definitely be going to this cinema again.

“Very small cinema”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

The cinema has a great old-times feel to it, but it is quite small. The seats are reasonably comfortable, the staff were very pleasant and the screening was on time (following the obligatory 20+ minutes of trailers)

“most interesting cinema building I've ever visited”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

People are puzzled when you explain the cinema in Salisbury is really interesting but as you step into what was originally a house and has been in its history a shop and a pub - passing through a hall with fireplace and stained glass before getting to the current cinema box office - the comment starts to make sense.
The cinema is an Odeon and shows the usual mix of Hollywood blockbusters and occasional showings of more mixed cultural offerings including National Theatre live, and less high profile art house films.
The old ticket office is still visible immediately inside the main door which is interesting but the stunning hall section on the way to the new ticket office is the real gem. Worth a visit if you find yourself in Salisbury town centre for that alone.... you might not even be staying for a film ;-)

“How cinemas used to be”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Went here to am NT live showing when visiting the city. Just the same sort of audience as at home for such events - preponderantly middle aged and conservatively middle class. It was like climbing Everest (or so I imagined) getting up to the back row of screen 1. The décor and seating was so like my recollection of cinemas of a bygone age but with a good bit more room for ones legs. Relatively small screen and not highest quality sound but, nonetheless we had an enjoyable evening
