“Beautiful in its simplicity”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

After seeing Westminster Abbey and many cathedrals in Italy, Salisbury is exquisite in its relative simplicity but still very grand. A definite must see and the surrounding down is lovely to spend time in.

“One of my most favorite place to visit”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

I LOVE this Cathedral. We visited it this time via a public bus from Chiseldon where we were stay, just south of Swindon. Loved the bus ride as it went through all sorts of little villages. And then the best part was walking into this magnificent place of worship. Don't miss the Chapter Room where stands one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta. What a great opportunity to be that close to 13th century history.

“Famous for its spire”

Plenty to see inside. The atmosphere is magical when the choir sings. Oldest clock still ticking the grounds outside are fabulous for picnics. Shop with local and religious goods

“A Timeless Treasure”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

The building of Salisbury Cathedral began in the 13C, it is an ancient and remarkable place of worship. We visited in January 2014. We had to park in a pre-paid parking area some streets away behind a supermarket and walk to the location, which was fine since we are able-bodied. Sign posts to the Cathedral are not clear. The view of the Cathedral from a distance seems mediocre, but when you get up close, you are in for a treat. It is absolutely beautiful. Once inside a sense of awe and wonderment takes over, it's gorgeous, ancient, it smells old, you are transported back to an ancient time. It is a shame the floor memorials are worn with foot traffic. The stained glass windows are fantastic. I personally left with a sense of peace and stillness.
